Hewitt's Vox Blogoli IV

The Question posed by Hugh Hewitt: "In 250 words or less, why vote for Bush and what's wrong with Kerry?"

While there have been many thoughts expressed in response to this provocative question, my only resonating response is this: national security.

Without security for a nation, for its citizens and the residing commerce that sustains those citizens, there is nothing left to consider.

All of the arguments that are left on the table quickly disappear: Health coverage is a moot point if terrorists are running amok and not allowing hospitals to operate (Afghanistan).

Social Security is a non sequitur if the citizens don’t live into old age, rather lie decomposing in mass graves (Iraq).

Tax relief or restructuring become meaningless if there is no infrastructure in place (Haiti).

The answer: George W. Bush.

John Kerry’s only response to all of the above is sound bites.

I have watched and listened to John Kerry when he isn’t scripted and it has been a disaster. Always. Disaster.

One look at Kerry’s 20+ year Senate record speaks volumes. There is nothing there.

I don’t want a studio production running this country. I want a leader.

George W. Bush isn’t perfect. He is human. But he is the only one I see on the national stage right now that is willing to stare the terrorists in the eye and say "Do you feel lucky, punk?"
