Al-Zarqawi Claims Responsibility for Iraq Bombing - Iraqis Protest at Site of Blast

While al-Qaida’s group in Iraq has claimed responsibility for Monday's deadly bombing in Hillah, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group says the attack that killed 125 people targeted a registration centre for Iraqi police and National Guardsmen.

The claim of responsibility makes no mention of a medical clinic where the recruits gathered when the suicide car bomber blew himself up.

Meanwhile, thousands of mostly black-clad Iraqis protested Tuesday outside a medical clinic where a suicide car bomber killed 125 people a day earlier, braving the threat of another attack as they waved clenched fists, condemned foreign fighters and chanted “No to terrorism!”

It is clear that the intent of al-Zarqawi is to fuel emotions and incite a sectarian war, but this reaction from the people - in spite of becoming targets themselves - is an indication that the Iraqi people are becoming more capable of taking care of business...and that is not a good sign for the terrorist/torturer/murderer al-Zarqawi...
