and now for some truth...

There are some really great sites with messages to us from the citizens of Iraq. They have discovered the blog and are sending us their messages of hope. The people of Iraq are thankful to the U.S. for their freedom; they are anxious to join the rest of the world that they can only now access through pictures and the internet. Here is just a sampling of what is out there...

This inspiring message from Iraq at a glance, a blog created by a dentist in Baghdad. Says A.Y.S., the author - "Let the world know the real Iraqi people, the people who look for peace and justice, security , freedom and democracy..not those criminals who are shown on the channels kidnapping and killing the innocents in the name of ‘resistance and Islam’…there is NO ‘resistance’ in Iraq, there are AlQaida, Saddamis, Arabs and criminals who are destroying our country and the MNF, ING, IP and the IRAQI PEOPLE are fighting them….OK?"

Another blog, Healing Iraq , has this message for the world: "Our collective voice and efforts are reaching wider audiences day by day exposing them to the situation on the ground by people whose lives are involved and directly affected by it. We are intent on healing iraq from decades of abuse and to make it through these difficult times into a new phase of democracy, freedom, and prosperity."

The Iraqi Pro-Democracy Party tells us this: "We believe that we represent an important segment of the Iraqi people that was never organized before under any category as a result of the oppression of the past regime."

Don't expect to hear any of this on the nightly news. If there aren't grizly pictures or distorted facts meant to discourage us in our support for our President and the Armed Forces that are fighting for both the American people and the Iraqi people, it will never show up on any of the talking heads scripts. It is a sad fact that in order to discover the good news and positive reinforcement in this process we are forced to dig for it. But the good news is out there. You just have to be persistent, find it and then bounce it out to the rest of the listening audience.
