You have seen the headlines, now consider this - when it comes to human rights issues, the unfortunate fact is that largely it is only conservatives who care about it. That's right, I said Conservatives!
Robert Spencer's article Exposing the Leftist-Islamist Axis hits the nail on the head.
Spencer writes "When the Left does notice an adulterous woman being stoned to death under Sharia law, or some other outrage in the Islamic world, it is usually dismissed as an aberration or somehow blamed on their all-purpose bogeyman: the United States government."
We heard nary a word from the left after terrorists raped and murdered school children in Russia, and I doubt we will hear from them about today's tragedy.
Just to be sure that you know where the Left stands on this issue, Nicholas De Genova, professor at Columbia University: "Peace is not patriotic [but] subversive. . . . Peace anticipates a very different world than the one in which we live -- a world where the U.S. would have no place." De Genova, of course, won nationwide notoriety when he declared just before the beginning of the Iraq war: "The only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military. . . . I personally would like to see a million Mogadishus." (my emphasis)
This professor is talking about murdered US soldiers. He supports our enemies, terrorists that are intent on making their form of government, complete with torture and beheadings, the form of government worldwide.
You don't hear outrage from the Left on the terrorist acts of aggression. And people wonder where the terrorists are getting the encouragement to continue their egregious acts.
