the Hollywood Reporter, writing about the "chilly reception" that Chris Rock will get when he hosts the Oscars STILL doesn't get it!
Calling the United States a 'second grade classroom'....acting as if Eason Jordan is some kind of hero for lying to the world that American soldiers were targeting journalists...blaming 'conservative blogs' for Jordan's eventual loss of his job....and trying to tie all of that back to the uproar that Hollywood is now in over Chris Rock's goofy statements...
Listen, Hollywood...Chris Rock's dumb comments about the Oscars does in no way equate to Whoopie Goldberg's crass jokes about the president's name...
You actors go out - mostly when you are overseas speaking to sympathetic audiences (because you know you will get your arses kicked off the stage if you dare try it at home - Linda Ronstadt are you listening?)...you go onstage and denigrate this country and its leaders...disgusting - all of you!

Apparently David Letterman made a similar 'mistake' : He was an outsider who failed to gauge the tolerance a Hollywood crowd would have for a guy poking harmless but pointed fun at their revered institution -- and the crowd turned on him...
The same writer warns: Rock is setting himself up for a similarly chilly reception, particularly in an age when speaking one's mind can be hazardous to one's career health....

It's OKAY for the Hollywood creeps to go global and run a smear/hate/scorched-earth campaign on the leader of the free world...even if none of the accusations are true or can ever be verified...because it is their RIGHT to do so....
