True to form, Kerry backtracked on his prior statements stating that "Saddam is/was a threat"
His flip-flopping is a character flaw.....it isn't going away.....

Power Line had this to say Bush is talking about Russia; he doesn't pontificate the way Kerry does, which is good. A person could get tired of Kerry pretty quickly. Maybe they need to make the next debate longer....
I agree

Kerry just said he will shut down US nukes.
KERRY IS SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bush just outlined the ways that WMDs are in the hands of terrorist network.....Missle defense stuff was good too

According to USA Today, Advisers for the Democratic presidential candidate demanded Thursday that the lights signaling when a speaker's time has expired during debates with President Bush be removed from the lecterns because they are distracting.
We all know the real reason the Hot Air Bag Kerry wants the lights removed, but according to "Kerry's people", The Bush teams wants to debate about things like this to distract from the real issues," Devine said. - YES - that is Mr. Spittle himself, Tad Devine.
Oh, and also Mr. Spittle (you know, the one that just accused the Bush Team of not paying attention to the real issues) - he said "We'll beat them over the head a little bit, then we'll see what happens."
Should be an interesting night...a little spit flying...beating over the head...throwing lights off stage...think they'll surprise us with more balloons and the "F bomb?"
I'm going to chill the beer right now......heh

35 Innocent Children Murdered - Where is the Outrage and Protests from the Left?
You have seen the headlines, now consider this - when it comes to human rights issues, the unfortunate fact is that largely it is only conservatives who care about it. That's right, I said Conservatives!
Robert Spencer's article Exposing the Leftist-Islamist Axis hits the nail on the head.
Spencer writes "When the Left does notice an adulterous woman being stoned to death under Sharia law, or some other outrage in the Islamic world, it is usually dismissed as an aberration or somehow blamed on their all-purpose bogeyman: the United States government."
We heard nary a word from the left after terrorists raped and murdered school children in Russia, and I doubt we will hear from them about today's tragedy.
Just to be sure that you know where the Left stands on this issue, Nicholas De Genova, professor at Columbia University: "Peace is not patriotic [but] subversive. . . . Peace anticipates a very different world than the one in which we live -- a world where the U.S. would have no place." De Genova, of course, won nationwide notoriety when he declared just before the beginning of the Iraq war: "The only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military. . . . I personally would like to see a million Mogadishus." (my emphasis)
This professor is talking about murdered US soldiers. He supports our enemies, terrorists that are intent on making their form of government, complete with torture and beheadings, the form of government worldwide.
You don't hear outrage from the Left on the terrorist acts of aggression. And people wonder where the terrorists are getting the encouragement to continue their egregious acts.

Drugs of another kind...
Hundred Percenter makes an interesting point about Kerry needing to hide spots on his face from Botox injections in his ARMPITS..."It is widely speculated that Kerry tanned to hide spots on his face that appear after botox shots under ones arms. Why would Kerry do that?Well, John would likely get botox shots under his arms to temporarily paralyze his eccrine sweat glands. By doing that, Mr. Kerry would not sweat during his debate versus George Bush. Kerry was mocked for sweating so profusely during his DNC convention speech."
hmmmm...do you also think they got too close to his right eye this time with the Botox needle? Why is it so droopy?
Oh, and Kerry, you can take the yellow armband off now...we see it
Dems are waiting for the Rapture...
and the meltdown continues...according to this article in the Washington Post, even George Soros is getting into the act - hitting the road trying to bolster the candidate he already has covered with money.
Frustrated with the embers that never ignited, liberals are waiting for Kerry's campaign to catch fire. Some quarters are even looking longingly at Howard Dean and wondering where they went wrong.
This from the article linked above: For CEOs who dug deep this time, the contender bears not just their fragile hopes but their robust checks. Electability was supposed to be Kerry's thing. That's why they ran from their kids' loony choice, Howard Dean, who this week on the "Today" show suddenly sounded so sane and smart. While Dean's antiwar position now looks as prescient as Richard Clarke before 9/11, Kerry has morphed into Dukakis on stilts.
They just don't get it. Using words like "electable" and "brilliant" they ran to Kerry when they realized that Dean's antiwar rhetoric wouldn't carry them to where they needed to go. But they didn't do their homework on Kerry and underestimated the weight of Kerry's baggage.
For all their derisive comments about President Bush: how Bush can't carry a candle to Kerry when delivering a speech; how Bush sometimes stumbles over his words; how Bush looks like he is swaggering - all of that strikes a note within us, for we realize that while Bush might not be a perfect deliverer of speeches, he speaks from the heart. Never waivers. Isn't bothered by polls when considering how he is going to work to protect this country.
That is what they can't understand. And that is what is going to carry Bush to re-election.

Supposedly Kerry is slipping in the polls...but is there something ELSE we should be paying attention to?
According to the Washington Times, The most significant but under-reported political development in the 2004 presidential campaign is John Kerry's slippage in three heavily Democratic battleground states: Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
This SEEMS like good news, but then read what NewsMax is reporting about Democrats stealing elections in Ohio, Iowa, Florida - with their efforts in their 527 groups and help from the unions.
According to the New York Times, "Under Iowa law, anyone can request an absentee ballot, no questions asked. ..."
The Des Moines Register details that as of last week 199,592 absentee ballots have been requested – with most of those coming from Iowa's 20 largest counties.
The vitriol from the left that has continued ever since the 2000 election, leaving us with bitter opponents that are willing to sacrifice anything to get back in power. Their voices are getting shriller and their tactics are becoming alarming. Memories of the 2000 election and reports of liberals rousing the homeless and driving them to voting polls only make the matter seem more severe.

Kerry campaign spokesman Bill Burton, responding to Lynne Cheney's joke about Kerry's fake suntan, said this: "Is Mrs. Cheney jealous considering how hard it is to get sun in the undisclosed location with her husband Dick? Or is she distracted over how red-in-the-face George Bush should be considering his failed presidency?"
Hahahaha. oh stop! stop! your killing me with your brilliant comebacks!
Idiot.

Light blogging until next Wednesday...
I am at a conference...thought it would be easy to multi-task, but this is taking most of my energy and time.
Don't forget to visit my usual haunts while I am gone, including Kerry Haters - and other AZ blogs - Desert Cat, Cactus Road, No Pundit Intended.
I will touch base when possible.

Worth seeing
There are several movies that are coming out soon that need our support. Now, I doubt that many of these films will have enough backing to hit the theaters since we all know that Hollywood will not put their stamp of approval on anything that is even close to patriotism in the form of supporting this President. But hopefully if some do make it to the theater, you will go - and otherwise support them by buying the DVD - then sharing it with everyone you know.
Celcius 41.11 The temperature at which the brain begins to die created by Citizens United will be out September 2004. You can see the trailers now on their website.
During the recent American Film Renaissance Film Festival, a conservative event, Michael Moore Hates America was premiered. Trailers of Michael Moore Hates America can be seen on the website. There is a good write-up here about MMHA.
Stolen Honor is already available on DVD and VHS.
The very idea of a conservative film apparently was too much for many members of the press, including Bryan Curtis at Slate Magazine who resorts to snarky comments about one of the event sponsors.
Media who were at the festival resorted to calling the filmmakers "intolerant conservatives" and, according to one report - Curtis implied that the gathering smacked of “Nazism.” As he put it: “aspiring right-wing auteurs suggested that if we could just get back to the values of Casablanca -- you know, Nazism, adultery, casino gaming -- the studios would make movies worth watching again.” In doing so, Curtis demonstrates the same type of narrow-mindedness he accuses festival attendees of exhibiting.
For Curtis to call conservative filmmakers a Republican jihad shows his contempt for anything that goes against HIS grain. Once again, the left proves that their idea of free speech is a right that is reserved for them and only them.

WTF??
Just in case you haven't noticed, I am really pissed off right now. I am sick of the slaughter of innocent citizens by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. I say nuke 'em. Nuke 'em all.
Kerry's out there cracking stupid jokes on television shows while Americans are being beheaded. WTF is up with that???
And what the hell's up with Cat Stevens anyway?

Saddam is Depressed - Who Gives a Shit
And now THIS!!!
CAIRO (Reuters) - Deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is depressed and has begged the Iraqi government for mercy, Iraq's Prime Minister Iyad Allawi said in an interview published Monday.
**My note: oh really? give him the silver bullet.
"He is distraught and depressed," Allawi said of Saddam, the man who was Iraq's president for 24 years and is awaiting trial for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
**My note: boo! hoo! show him the pictures and videos of all of the people he filmed while torturing and killing them...that should cheer him up
"Saddam and his colleagues are not the giants that the media sometimes talks about. Saddam sent us an oral message in which he begged for mercy. He said that they were working in the public interest and did not mean any harm," Allawi said in an interview with the pan Arab al-Hayat newspaper.
**My note: hmmm…let’s get this straight… Saddam was working "in the public interest" when he cut out tongues; raped women; tortured people; fed people into wood chippers...feet first...while they were still alive; threw people off of high rise buildings.
Ya, Saddam didn't mean any harm. Allawi, we are rooting for you and your new government, but if you give in to this - you are TOAST!!! Americans did NOT give up their lives so that you could turn around and be gullible enough to fall for this bullshit from a mass murderer!

Waaa! Waaaa! Waaaa!
Gimme a break! Apparently the name calling, hate mongering, sissies that bought into Michael Moore's garbage are breaking ranks and crying like babies.
Good ole' Michael has a message for them...they need hugs and reassurance because Kewwy is down in the polls.
Boo! Hoo!
That mean old Bush - who never said a word while Piggy Moore did a character assassination on him - speaks to the people and his numbers go up.
Go home you ninnies! This is what politics is all about. You say mean things...we say mean things back...if your guy is such a baby about this process how the hell do you expect him to run the country?
Moore says "Instead of the wailing and gnashing of your teeth, why not hold out a hand to him and help the inner soldier/protester come out and defeat the forces of evil we now so desperately face."
Moore is talking about Kewwy's inner soldier/protester.
And the "forces of evil"? Why, that would be George W. Bush. NOT THE TERRORISTS THAT ARE KIDNAPPING PEOPLE AND SAVAGELY BEHEADING THEM!
You liberal ass-wipes are insane. We have good men and women who are fighting for their lives every second of every day - fighting for this country and the freedoms that allow you to "express yourselves"
Well, go relieve yourself in the corner - we have a war to win. And if you think you are going to get control of this country while we are in a war, you are delusional.

Kerry Would Leave Saddam in Power
On the same day that terrorists behead an American, Kerry says he would not have overthrown Saddam Hussein had he been in the White House, and he accused President Bush of "stubborn incompetence," dishonesty and colossal failures of judgment.
He went on to say "We have traded a dictator for a chaos that has left America less secure."
Kerry and his cohorts are the ones that have helped and encouraged the terrorists. Kofi Annon calls the war in Iraq 'illegal'. He also said he believed there should have been a second UN resolution following Iraq's failure to comply over weapons inspections.
A SECOND resolution? There were fourteen!
According to Ben Johnson at Front Page: The fact remains the United Nations Security Council authorized “serious consequences” for Saddam Hussein’s Ba’athist regime, and, in accordance, international Coalition forces brought the tyrant’s “Decade of Defiance” to a cataclysmic halt.
All of this does not go unnoticed by the terrorists. Johnson agrees, "This can only invigorate those elements of society, including holdovers from the previous “legitimate” government, seeking to terrorize their way back into power."
In fact, they are watching our every move. There is a direct link to the upsurge in violence whenever someone on this side of the ocean speaks out against President Bush on Iraq. The terrorists are emboldened by those insane statements.
And now we have another American savagely murdered. Or maybe that was their plan all along. The more bodies, more votes - eh Kerry?

Misled or Trying to Mislead?
According to this headline in the New York Times today, CBS is claiming to have been misled.
Really...?
How can you be misled if more than one source is claiming the material is not genuine? How can you be misled if handwriting experts won't certify authenticity? How can you be misled if you ignore all of the warning signs and only focus on one source that points to the pre-ordained outcome?
But now CBS is claiming to be a victim. YA - UH HUH.
CBS has been defending Rather all the time hoping this would just go away. And now that they finally are dealing with the F-O-R-G-E-R-Y issue, Rather will be bagged and they will get back to business as usual.
Don't get me wrong - Rather needs to go. But there also has to be an investigation into the paper trail...how did the forged memo get from Point A to Point B and then CBS.
AND - who IS Point B?
Methinks that Rather is toast...didja see him trash FoxNews yesterday? that was hilarious because the Dallas reporter used classic Rather tactics when approaching him at the airport.
And finally - fellow AZ blogger desert cat has a great link to more salacious information on Dan Rather - check it out.

U.S. Judge Strikes Down Commission's Campaign Finance Rules
According to this report from Bloomberg a judge has ordered - at the 11th hour - a rewrite by the Federal Elections Commission of 15 rules, including regulations exempting Internet ads from the 2002 campaign finance law. The law bars outside groups from coordinating television and radio advertisements with candidates.
Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly was a Clinton appointee in 1997.
This will probably be stayed until after the election when the FEC appeals, but it is just another example of why we cannot allow Kerry to be elected.

HERE is the problem in the Middle East!!
I keep pointing you to this website which is a frequent diary from an Iraqi citizen.
Today he speaks about the Wahabi schools I spoke about earlier.
Read his post. Absorb it. Then contact your Congressmen and Senators and ask them why these schools are allowed to continue???

I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I DO THIS FOR YOU!!
I am watching CNBC's "A Topic", including trashing of Fox News and....AND....bloggers!!!
Their weak-assed defense is arguing about Dan Rather stating that he wasn't going to be "brow-beaten" by Fox News...and then suddenly they were trashing bloggers!
Let me tell you something - the elite media has sustained a fatal blow. Whether they know it or not is really inconsequential. How they deal with it is going to be interesting.......

Kerry's support for the UN is unforgiveable
I hope all of you watched the FoxNews special on the UN Oil for Food Program. A lot of our suspicions are confirmed and a lot more need to be investigated.
The United Nations! This is the altar that John F. Kerry will kneel at if he is elected president~!
(it is kinda wierd that I highlighted the Muslim Brotherhood earlier today, especially since it was mentioned in this story, but this really is one of the more secretive and dangerous terrorist groups and one that I have been following with what information is available)

Kerry's "why do they hate us?" shows his lack of credentials for the job
Watched C-Span early this morning - Americans for Informed Democracy / The People Speak: “Town Hall Meeting on U.S.-Islamic World Relations." Some very good points were made, reminders actually. If it is re-run, you should try to watch it.
1 – Terrorism is not (I repeat, NOT) the United States’ fault. Terrorism has long been used as a weapon in Middle Eastern countries, long before George Bush or Dick Cheney ever came on the scene.
**My note: a look at just one group, Muslim Brotherhood which was founded in Egypt in the late 1930's, you see terrorist acts perpetrated against each other. In 1948 the brotherhood blamed the Egyptian government for passivity in the war against the Zionists. They started to perform terrorist attacks inside Egypt. By December of that year, the Egyptian authorities banned the Muslim Brotherhood and they turned around and assassinated Prime Minister Mahmud Fahmi Nokrashi. Eventually their own Egyptian President Anwar as-Sadat was murdered by this group of thugs.
2 – Terrorism is not a result of abject poverty. Take the 9/11 terrorists – most of them were from wealthy Saudi Arabian families. Saudi Arabia is supposed to be one of our strong allies in the Middle East.
3 – Poverty in the Middle East is an internal problem; those citizens are NOT allowed to speak out against their rulers, so the anger is redirected at the United States, all with the knowledge and encouragement of those rulers, through the Wahabi fundamentalist schools.
4 – The war in Iraq was not driven by oil. Oil will find its way to the world no matter how terrible a despot is in control. They want our money. They NEED our money. Sanctions on Iraq that were put into place by the UN were fully supported by the US. If we were so concerned and focused on controlling oil, why would we do such a foolish thing?
It always amazes me to hear Americans trying to find a way to blame our government for the attacks on us including September 11th. “Why do they hate us?” really shows the naiveté of the questioner.
OF COURSE governments of different countries aren’t always going to get along. We have different cultures, different opinions, different objectives.
Our government SHOULD do things that are in the best interest of OUR CITIZENS. Being President of the United States doesn't mean that we are striving to win a popularity contest on the world stage.
If the President of the United States doesn't take our interests FIRST, our security FIRST, he should not be allowed to be president of this country.

Heinz-Kerry Undermining Homeland Security via the Open Borders Lobby
FrontPage magazine currently has a series, 57 Varieties of Radical Causes, which is a report by Ben Johnson documenting the tax-exempt giving by Teresa Heinz Kerry to political groups, which are shaping the American future.
If you aren't familiar with Kerry's wife's involvement with the "shadow political organizations", you should educate yourself.
Living in a border state, I am particularly offended - no! outraged! - to learn of Heinz-Kerry's huge support of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), one of the premier organizations making up the “open borders” lobby. By huge, I mean that she has contributed well over half-a-million dollars to this group's prolonged effort to erase America’s borders and undermine the nation’s security.
MALDEF's history is extremely alarming. Not content to follow its original charter, which was aiding LEGAL immigrants to this country, MALDEF has expanded its efforts in giving illegal immigrants tools to avoid police detection.
It has long been known that terrorists are now using our border crossings to slip into this country undetected. According to Johnson, Heinz-Kerry has also underwritten the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA).
In June 2002, MIRA explicitly told its followers not to comply with federal immigration law:
"Please do NOT aid people in applying with INS unless you are familiar with their immigration history and are certain they would not be at risk of deportation by doing so. Always refer clients to an attorney if they are out of status or have a criminal record of any kind. It is very important that we, as service providers, do not put people at risk even as we try to help them.
Also, immediately after 9/11 a MIRA press release asked people to “Refer local Arab, Muslim, and affected groups to MIRA.”
Read Ben Johnson's article. His extensive research on this subject contains critical information on the man-who-would-be-president's wife.

Kerry says Bush in "fantasy world of spin"
John Kerry told the National Guard Association yesterday that President Bush is in "a fantasy world of spin" as he continues to mislead the nation about the war in Iraq.
Well, John Kerry, maybe you should get out a little more. The Iraqi people are finding their voices. Of course, it took a little while for them to be sure that Sadam Hussein wasn't going to somehow get back in power. And, yes, it is difficult to get the good news out of Iraq - especially because most of the media doesn't want the rest of the world to hear anything positive that could in some reflect positively on America and its Allies. But, just as CBS found out - the power of blogging is only just beginning.
Here is just one example of an email from an Iraqi:
“America is not an enemy of Arabs and Muslims, on the contrary, on many occasions she backed Muslims when other Muslims did nothing like in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. America helped us get rid of the worst dictatorship in history and despite the unstable security situation now in Iraq we breath freely and say whatever we want to say without fear from Saddam and his dogsI was-and still-working as a teacher and Saddam was paying me 2 dollars a month, can you imagine that? while he paid thousands and thousands to his followers. Things now are much better for me and I feel grateful for America and the coalition for what they did to save us”Amjad Al Ubaidy -Baghdad/Iraq.
You can read more messages of hope from the Iraqi people at this blog by two popular Iraqi webloggers, Ali Fadhil and Mohammed Fadhil, who today announced their candidacies for the Iraqi National Assembly.

Bob Dole calls on John Kerry to demand that MoveOn.org take down their ad
Drudge has posted a statement that Bob Dole issued asking Kerry to demand Moveon.org to remove their latest ad depicting a defeated American Soldier. Dole uses strong language in his call for Kerry to stand by the image he is trying to portray:
I cannot believe that John Kerry, who reminds us daily of his Vietnam service, would possibly approve the disgusting and demoralizing portrayal of American soldiers fighting for us in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.
John Kerry has raised doubts about our troops' ability to maintain security as well as Iraqi's ability to decide their own future through elections. He has called the allies in Iraq "window dressing." This is all reminiscent of his appearance before a Senate Committee in 1971 where he suggested with nothing but second hand information American GIs were committing atrocities and war crimes of the worst kind in Vietnam.
This defeatist attitude undermines the great progress and sacrifices of our men and women in the military and the contributions of our allies who are fighting against terror and standing up for freedom around the world.
The politics of pessimism that is being pursued by John Kerry and the extreme liberals demonstrates they are consumed by the past with nothing to offer but attacks on the President's agenda for creating a safer world.
John, say it isn't so and denounce this latest effort to divide Americans"
I only have one thing to say - where was this Bob Dole in 1996??

This is How Liberals Think
The liberals at Online Journal Editors post, "Is Kerry the Democrats’ sacrificial lamb?", is proof positive of the twisted minds of these people that like to call themselves 'pacificists'.
Pacifists really scare me. They also call themselves 'progressives'. Now that's an interesting word isn't it? Progressive to what? Their vision of dealing with terrorists is sitting down at a table and making a deal. Let's make a deal - we will do what you, Mr. Terrorist, want us to do and you won't cut off our heads, right?
And dontcha just love the words they have for conservatives? A neoconservative: “The neocons and hard-liners have long felt that no Soviet leader could be trusted” (New York Times)
Uh, YA!!
jingoist - an extreme bellicose nationalist, chauvinist, flag-waving, hundred-percenter, jingo; one who loves and defends his or her country; devotion to the interests or culture of a particular nation including promoting the interests of one country over those of others.
To this I say - RIGHT ON! You have defined, although it is difficult for you to say it without a sneer on your face while doing so, the typical patriototic American citizen that is now finally finding their voice and standing up to you liberal 'let's-all-get-along-and-sing-kumbaya' panty-waists and saying "ENOUGH ALREADY!!"
Am I proud to be a flag-waver? ... you bet I am. Your disdain for those of us that would support our president and our country is wearing thin.
But I digress. This is the opinion piece of the editors over at Online Journal. The emphasized wording is mine, everything else is theirs. Usually I don't print entire articles, but this is so important I am going to ignore my own rule today. YOU NEED TO READ THIS.
If John Kerry truly wants to be president, then he has got to stop the nonsense and start pounding away on George W. Bush’s record of failures and that is assuming the computerized voting devices haven’t already been rigged for Bush.
Kerry just wasted two days on the non-issue of assault weapons and probably lost thousands of votes in the process. Guns in the hands of citizens may be a bug-a-boo with a fraction of liberals, who foolishly think getting rid of guns will make crime vanish, and certain of our friends abroad. We suspect, though, that the anti-gun lobby was something dreamt up in the bowels of a right-wing think tank and foisted on unsuspecting liberal do-gooders. After all, one of the first things Hitler did was remove the citizens’ guns.
To those who say small arms are useless against military firepower, what is currently going on in Iraq belies that argument. Old Saddam, knowing what was going to happen in the wake of the illegal US invasion of his country, was wily enough to arm the Iraqi people before he was overthrown.
**My note: are these kooks rooting for the terrorists????
At every step, thus far, Kerry has allowed the Bushies to frame the debate and, thusly, make him look weak, indecisive and deceitful, while portraying the liar-in-chief, who skipped out on his National Guard commitment, stole the presidency, wrecked the economy, initiated two illegal wars, trampled on the Bill of Rights, tore up treaties, spit in our allies’ faces, and is destroying the environment, as some kind of strong, decisive leader—a hero, if you will
Kerry has allowed his service in Vietnam to be smeared by the Bushies, while turning a blind eye to the truth about Bush’s. He has allowed the Bushies to turn his ability to think and reason into a liability: flip-flopper, while ignoring Bush’s egregious flip-flops
John Kerry has had his eye on the presidency for a long time. Surely he didn’t think that going up against George W., Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Karen Hughes and their Soprano neocons was going to be a civilized thing. Actually, the Sopranos fight fairer.
Karl Rove may not be a household name among those Americans who get their “news” from the corporate media. But for those of you thought Poppy Bush’s boy, the late Lee Atwater, who destroyed Michael Dukakis was evil, his protégé, Rove, is beyond evil.
Now, unless Kerry is just raw meat for what may be our last presidential election and is meant to lose, someone has to get through to him: John Kerry, you can and must do better. Everything you need to win has been handed to you on a platter by Bush. Use it!
So there you have it. The Kerry campaign is sinking so blame the Republicans. Typical of the liberal frame of mind, if anything goes wrong it is NEVER their fault. Demonize the opponent but when they try to defend the attacks, paint them as the evil ones.
I used to think that liberals were just people with opinions that are opposite mine. Not any more. These extremists have shown themselves for what they are and if that doesn't scare you, you aren't paying attention.

Carl Bernstein Goes to Bat for Comrade Rather
Just finished watching Carl Bernstein defending CBS on the memo forgery...how quickly the zebra changes its stripes, eh Carl?
Remember when you were on the other side of the issue in Watergate? Oh ya, that's right - THAT ONE was Republicans...THIS ONE is the Democrats.
Okay, now I get it...so much for objectivity in the media, huh Carl??

We Deserve to Hear and See the TRUTH
Mark Steyn wrote an excellent column last week on the snobbery of Bush haters. What we are experiencing today with CBS speaks to that snobbery and disdain by the main stream media about our ability to comprehend what is going on.
But Steyn's article goes much deeper. He touched on all of the reasons that the Democrats are underestimating the ability of the American people to sort through all of this garbage and recognize the truth when we hear it.
According to Steyn, Kerry is about as spectacular a nothing as you could devise - a thin-skinned whiny vanity candidate who persists in deluding himself that Bush's advantage is all down to "smears" and "lies" and "mean" "attacks". It's not.
Bush's something is very simple: his view of the war on terror resonates with a majority of the American people; when he talks about 9/11 and the aftermath, they recognise themselves in his words; they trust his strategy on this issue. For an inarticulate man, he communicates a lot more effectively than Senator Nuancy Boy.
You have heard it said before, this is a defining moment in our history. And it is!
This defining moment, though, goes to the heart of the fact that for years we have been fed the pablum that the 'elite media' has pared down from the truth. Their excuses range from 'the people cannot tolerate it' to 'the people don't want to hear or see it.'
Well guess what, main stream media, WE DO want to hear the truth. And we hear it from George W. Bush.
It may not all be pretty, but we are pretty tough and able to take it. At least President Bush is willing to look us in the eye, lay out the problems as he sees them, and reassure us that we will be as safe as is reasonably expected under his watch.

Kerry Campaign Beginning the Implosion?
Tony Coelho, former Gore campaign chairman, lashed out today at the Kerry campaign characterizing it as a campaign in chaos. It appears that no on knows who is in charge and everyone is pointing the finger at the other guy for all the woes.
This really doesn't surprise me. I have always viewed John Kerry as chaotic. His 'flip-flop' reputation stems from the same personality flaw. And if Kerry can't even manage those that are trying to get him elected, how the hell can he be trusted to with the position of Commander in Chief??

We are Actually Experiencing Rathergate II
According to Anne Morse at National Review, Dan Rather is no stranger to lying while looking straight into the camera lens - and therefore into the eyes of the American public. How long are you going to cover for this pathological liar, CBS?
The first Rathergate "took place 16 years ago when Dan Rather successfully foisted a fraud onto the American people. Then, unlike now, there was no blogosphere to expose him."
The June 2, 1988 CBS hour-long special titled CBS Reports: The Wall Within, which CBS trumpeted as the "rebirth of the TV documentary", apparently is an hour long lie that wasn't discovered until B.G. Burkett, a Vietnam veteran and author of Stolen Valor: How the Vietnam Generation Was Robbed of its Heroes and its History (with Glenna Whitley). Burkett discovered that only one of the vets had actually served in combat. Steve Southards, who'd claimed to be a 16-year-old Navy SEAL assassin, had actually served as an equipment repairman stationed far from combat. Later transferred to Subic Bay in the Philippines, Steve spent most of his time in the brig for repeatedly going AWOL.

You just GOTTA love this!!
Proof again that the left believes in freedom of speech only for themselves, but thankfully this guy wasn't going to let some of Kerry's goons stop him:
James Hirsen at NewsMax is reporting that The Web site freekerrybook.com recently tried to offer access to a copy of "The New Soldier," written by John Kerry and the notorious Vietnam Veterans Against the War.
The book was first published in 1971 and is rare enough these days to fetch hundreds of dollars on eBay.
As it turns out, a Kerry chum would show just how much Hollywood cherishes free expression.
George Butler is a Hollywood producer who made a pro-Kerry flick about the book "Tour of Duty." The film is presently called "Going Upriver" and is a recounting of the disputed Vietnam service of the Dem candidate.
It seems that Butler hired a lawyer to file a complaint with Yahoo, which resulted in Yahoo shutting down the freekerrybook.com Web site.
Well, now apparently the founder of the site has started up a new 527 organization, freekerrybook.org, and re-established access to the book.
Kerry has tried to silence the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, muzzle the Web site and tether Teresa.
The Left Coast Report wonders who'll be the next to get the Kerry cork.
My thought is this - if you haven't already downloaded a copy of Kerry's book "The New Soldier" why don't you go to the new 527 site, download, and see what Kerry is going to such lengths to keep from us.

Kerry ----Is He On Drugs??
USAToday is reporting that the Kerry-Edwards campaign has already contacted the Federal Elections Commission for guidance on how it could raise money to cover any recount costs, including whether it could use a legal compliance fund it is tapping to pay campaign lawyers and finance other legal and accounting costs. The FEC is expected to rule by the end of the month.
Has Kerry not been listening to the news and hearing what the American people are telling him in the polls?
Of course, you COULD look at this from another perspective...and I point you to these key words in the report: whether it could use a legal compliance fund it is tapping to pay campaign lawyers and finance other legal and accounting costs...hmmm...let's see...which Vice Presidential candidate is a lawyer with ties to the legal community...?...and which Vice Presidential candidate, by virtue of his association and ties to the legal community, would be able to help his cronies by fattening their wallets with these kinds of actions????...I am going to leave you to your own conclusion.....
Has Kerry not been listening to the news and hearing what the American people are telling him in the polls?

Kerry's Serious Gun Violations
While assailing President Bush for failing to push for the renewal of a 10-year ban on private use of assault weapons, John Kerry took possession of a browning semi-automatic shotgun outside his home state.
A gun crossing state lines is heavily regulated thanks to John Kerry and his ilk.
Check out "Gun Laws of America", the unabridged plain-English federal guide to gun ownership, and you will discover that Kerry broke not just ONE law, but several that he had a hand in crafting.
1. Taking ownership of the shotgun gift, if he doesn't already have a valid Massachusetts Firearm Identification Card, could subject him to a two-and-a-half-year prison term in his home state. Since he has claimed publicly he owns firearms, chances are he has this critical piece of paper, Korwin says.
2. Bringing the firearm back to Massachusetts, if he received it from a private party, would be a federal felony under the 1968 Gun Control Act (five years in prison, $5,000 fine, 18 USC §922).
3. The only exemption that would allow him to bring it into his home state requires that he obtained it in a face-to-face transaction with a federal firearms licensed dealer (FFL). A private gift would not qualify.
4. If Kerry did get it from an FFL, he would have had to personally fill out and sign a 4473 form, required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), before the gift was given, under penalty of federal felony.
5. If Kerry did not personally undergo a "NICS" instant background check before the transfer from an FFL, he would have put the person conducting the transfer in some legal jeopardy, though the law contains a loophole that probably would save Kerry from additional harm (the dealer, not the recipient, suffers from failure to do the NICS check).
Kerry would have you believe, with all of his photo ops, that he is a true gun aficionado, but his 1) ignorance of the law; or, 2) complete disregard of the law when it applies to him, should tell you his true character.

Contacting the Media - Thanks DU!
At Democratic Underground they have developed a National Media Blaster with a page for each state titled Local Media Blaster that has email addresses of media contacts. Of course, they are expecting you to use it in support of Kerry...but there aren't any prohibitions anywhere on the site nor do you have to check a box stating that you are going to abide by the DU rules...
It really is kinda cool...you go to your state, give your email address (they SWEAR they don't keep a record of it...ya! sure! make one up), check which type of media you want to contact - radio, newspaper, etc - and they give you a list of emails ready to cut and paste into an email.
Oh, and btw, they recommend that you use BCC so that "recipients cannot see all of the other recipents' addresses"...pretty clever, huh.
If you are in the frame of mind to send a "Support Bush" or "Defeat Kerry" email, why not take advantage of their list? They already have done the legwork...~grin~

Surprise - Hollywood Wants Kofi Annan to be President of the World
The Fourth Freedom Forum is linked from the Artists United to Win Without War (AUWWW) website so the reader can get more information about the controversy over justifying war in Iraq. Fourth Freedom founder Brembeck's vision and desire for a world based on the rule of international law rather than force and free from fear of weapons of mass destruction.
Rule of International Law? Doesn't that sound like the U.N. to you?

Win Without War apologizes for Abu Graib
Another website, Win Without War (WWW), lists all of their "coalition members". You gotta read this list to understand who they are.
Shockingly, this group has already run an ad on Arab television apologizing for Abu Graib!!! Who authorized that?? According to WWW:
With the ad they hope to send a message directly from the people of the United States, to the people of Iraq and the Arab world, telling them that, as Americans, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them in demanding justice for these sinful abuses committed in our name.
I am totally hacked off about this!! I got a comment on this blog from a lib asking "why should Arabs apologize for 9-11?" And these idiots are running to apologize for putting underwear on someone's head?

Hollywood is STILL Working - Albeit Underground - to Denigrate President Bush
One of the reasons I got active in voicing my opinion against the Left was due to the hyperbole that I saw coming out of Hollywood. Kerry's stupidity and inaptitude is one thing that we have been focusing a lot of attention on lately, and rightfully so. But where have the Hollywood protesters gone that we heard so much of not so long ago?
One thing I firmly believe is that once those hypocrites discovered that there is a HUGE section of the American population that do not appreciate 1) slandering the President for all the world to see; 2) flying to Iraq while the United States of America is preparing for war (remember the human shields??); 3) meeting with Fidel Castro and calling him a "genius" and a "source of inspiration to the world"; and, 4) hypocrites trying to tell us "Don't do as I do, do as I say" for all of their "causes" while they continue to drive around in their SUVs (hey, I don't think there is anything wrong with an SUV, I own one...but these are the people that are screaming about them while they climb into their chauffeur driven limo...how many miles to the gallon does that get, Timmy?) - once they realized that the backlash of their outrageous behavior would affect their pocketbook...THEIR POCKETBOOK...they went into hiding.
The Creeps that populate Hollywood are cowards. Remember the first Oscars after 9-11? They had security up the ying-yang because they were so afraid for themselves. They are so quick to open their mouths with a tirade against President Bush but the very second they think their hide is in 'danger' (HA! what terrorist would go after those in this country that are supporting them??)...the moment they think THEY are gonna get hurt, they run whimpering back to their body guards.
Let me tell you one more thing about what I think of the Hollywood maggots. They want our money. They think they are ENTITLED to it. They throw around phrases like "McCarthyism" and they don't even know what they are talking about. This generation of actors has heard the McCarthy "story" like a nighttime lullaby, soaking up the hatred and loathing without knowing what it is that they hate. The only thing they know is - if they DON'T hate it - they won't work.
So, back to the original reason I am here tonight. Artists United WWW (AUWWW which means Artists United to Win Without War) is Mike Farrell's group and here is the list of his goons, primarily actors. It appears that AUWWW has joined with Moveon.org to create a new series of ads that will trash President Bush AGAIN.
It also appears that they are targeting Senator McCain who is from Arizona (the fact that they are writing to McCain is curious to me, and I am going to get to the bottom of this one). But my point is, these actors haven't gone away. Far from it. They are working in a very intense way to undermine everything we are doing to get President Bush re-elected and I think we need to pay very close attention to this group.

Muslims apologize for 9-11
This letter, posted on the Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism website, was a long time coming - but I am glad to see it.
Worth watching
Thanks to desertcat for this very moving 911 remembrance
These tributes are sometimes difficult to watch, but it is also very important that we NEVER FORGET what happened to our fellow countrymen that day and continues today with our men and women in the military in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The War on Terror is Far From being over
Our enemy
9-11
A lot has been written about what happened three years ago today. Everyone has their personal memory of exactly what they were doing when they heard the news. Mine is no different. Our sorrow eventually turned to anger and we were determined to avenge these brutal murders.
But today I am angry for another reason. This election is so critical for the future of not only our country but for our descendents as well. Election rhetoric is one thing, but we are still at war.
Today I read with horror the following: Campaigning in Missouri, Kerry accused the president of using the war on terror as a political tool to scare the American people.
"It is real, we've got a war," Kerry said. "We've got a problem but we should do more than just talk about it, try to scare people about it and make it a political issue."
NO, John Kerry, the problem is that YOU don't understand what really is going on here!
The horrible thing about this is that it was not on a US website but on the Hindustan Times – in India. Never think for one moment that the world is not watching what is going on here.
What John Kerry refuses to recognize is that there are still plenty of terrorists that are working to continue the horror of September 11, 2001.
Unbelievably, a group that calls themselves Al Muhajiroun praised Osama bin Laden.“He is my Muslim brother," Muhajiroun UK head Anjem Choudhury said. "We believe he is on the right path. We believe he is struggling. We believe he is leading Muslims on the right path." Spokesman Abu Sahlihah called the attacks "that magnificent operation carried out by the Mujahideen on September 11, 2001".
This is what we are still being threatened with!! September 11th was a battle in the bigger war on terror. The first attack on the World Trade Center was another. The barracks bombings and the October 2000 bombing of the destroyer USS Cole were more.
There are reports that Al Qaeda is planning underwater attacks; attacks on ships; that bin laden has bought a fleet of ships; that there will be attacks before the election in November. Looking at the gleeful faces and the celebration as the news of the September 11th attacks got out, it is impossible to ignore the fact that our enemies want us dead. This is war and we are the target.
President Bush has vowed that he will do whatever it takes to protect America and its citizens. President Bush is not, to quote Kerry, “just talking about it.” He has taken actions to thwart another disaster on our soil. President Bush told the American people right after September 11th that this war would be like no other. He also asked us to be patient even when it seemed like things weren’t being done or being done fast enough.
President Bush’s reminder of what happened three years ago is not a scare tactic. It is the reality of the world we live in today.

Dan Rather on life support...
Wolf Blitzer, CNN anchor and main stream media(MSM) elitist, has weighed in on the Memogate issue. Trying to paint this as a "yet another" confrontation with a Republican President, Blitzer ends his article as wimpy and limp as a wilted stalk of celery.
There is no retort. There is no defense. The truth of this matter is that someone...SOMEONE...forged these documents and the liberals, still foaming at the mouth and wanting to breathe life back into the Kerry campaign, jumped on the chance to 'expose' President Bush. They aren't ready to capitulate on this. They are still looking for even a shred of evidence to hold up as proof of the veracity of the forged documents...but they aren't going to find it.
The problem with lying is that once you begin it never ends. It continues to grow like a cancerous tumor and one day that lie begins to take on a life of its own. It is the deep, dark secret you try to hide from all visitors that suddenly lands on the doorstep with no warning just as you think you finally have it all secured...all of the loose ends tied up in neat little tidy knots...that unexpectedly begin to unravel right before your eyes.
Apparently the MSM are still in denial. Even at the end of Blitz's article he stated that Rather also said the possibility of issuing any kind of recant or apology was "not even discussed. Nor should it be."
The problem with that type of response is that it leaves you with nowhere to go. Rather has finally painted himself into the corner that has no escape. And this time I doubt if even CBS will be able to disentangle him from all of the deceit and lies.

Dan Rather has been biased for a LONG TIME
There is plenty of information all over the internet about Dan Rather and CBS so I won't duplicate it here. But, I am not the only one that has known about Rather's extreme bias and his efforts to influence his viewing audience.
If you remember, it was Dan Rather who went to Iraq on February 24, 2003 to interview Saddam Hussein.
Tom Marsland wrote an article at NewsMax about Rather Treasonous Dan and pointed out that Rather "called the mass murderer Hussein "Mr. President" and disrespectfully referred to his own President Bush as simply "Bush."
Tim Graham wrote about Rather's disgusting, unpatriotic and self-serving actions at National Review Online "Dan Rather's big interview with Saddam Hussein Wednesday night was not an exercise in social responsibility. It was a commercial opportunity, no more dignified than Martin Bashir exploiting Michael Jackson. It didn't put the American people first. It put Dan Rather first. On last night's shows alone, Rather was softer than ABC's Barbara Walters was with Robert Blake and CBS's Troy Roberts was with "preppy killer" Robert Chambers. These men were at worst small-time killers. Saddam Hussein is a mass murderer, a man who has children killed in front of their parents as a torture tactic. Rather called him "President Hussein" and "Mr. President," and sat cooperatively as he declared that he had won 100 percent of the last election. "100 percent," Rather repeated, with a tone that sounded like "you don't say."
And don't forget that it was Dan Rather, in 2001 when speaking to Imus who said "What happened was they [CBS management] got the willies, they got the Buckwheats. Their knees wobbled and we gave it up." Rather was telling Imus that it was HE who kept CBS from reporting on the Chandra Levy case, calling his bosses "buckwheats" when they decided to air coverage on the story against Rather's wishes.
At Rather Biased they have been documenting Rather's shameful behavior for a long time.
Dan Rather is a disgrace. Dan Rather is un-American.

In rememberance...
While the nation was having a good laugh at the expense of Florida’s hanging chads and butterfly ballots, Mohammed Atta and Marwan al Shehhi were there, in Florida, learning to drive commercial jetliners [and ram them into the World Trade Center towers] It will take a novelist to paint that broad canvas properly. It will take some deep political thinking to understand how the lackadaisical attitude toward government and the world helped leave the country so unready for the horror that Atta and Shehhi were preparing.

Ben Barnes is lying
So states his daughter claiming that her father is an opportunist, a big time fundraiser and Kerry supporter. Amy Barnes told WBAP's Mark Davis radio show in Dallas, Texas He denied this to me in 2000 that he did get Bush out [of Vietnam service]. Now he's saying he did.
Oh, and did I mention that Ben Barnes is also promoting his new book??

Michael Moore Hates America
The long awaited documentary by Michael Wilson will be unveiled at the American Renaissance Film Festival in Dallas this weekend.
States Wilson, contrary to its title, Michael Moore Hates America isn’t a hatchet job on the filmmaker. It’s a journey across the nation where we meet celebrities, scholars and average folks alike, and we find out whether the American Dream is still alive! In the process, we’ll look at Michael Moore’s claims about the country, its people, and our way of life.
Wilson tried for months to get the smarmy Moore to talk to him, but the closest Wilson got was at a book signing event where Moore began shouting at Wilson, who was in the crowd. Have you noticed how Moore is able to trash anyone he hates but if the camera lens is turned on him he squeals like a stuck pig? Okay, I was not talking about his physical appearance - ~grin~
Wilson's movie should be a 'must see' - it will be for me.

Our Soldiers away from home....
It seems like we often don't think about our soldiers, men and women, that are away from home until it is one of our own that has gone to serve or if it is around the holidays.
Since the anniversary of September 11th is only hours away, I have found myself thinking about all of our military that are serving all over the world and trying to find a way to remind everyone about the sacrifices they are making hourly but also a way to honor their contributions to our precious freedoms.
I have listed some new links dedicated to our Men and Women in the Service and I will include links in this discussion area over the next few days so that our military forces will come back front and center on our radar screens.
If you have someone that is serving, send them a care package. If you don't personally know anyone, here is a link to a site created by Sergeant Brian Horn that is dedicated to sending our soldiers packages from home that lets them know that we haven't forgotten them. Even though Brian is no longer in Iraq, he continues this effort because he remembers what it is like to be so many miles from home.
Operation Shoebox encourages citizens to support their fighting men and women deployed overseas in these dangerous times. They currently have a a Christmas Stocking Project: We've got volunteers making Christmas stockings already. But we'll need hundreds more stockings. Can you help? It's not too early. Start work now and send the stockings to Operation ShoeBox.
Items we currently need: Snack foods, Gatorade, Cool Ties (available at Walmart). Can you help?
We are so lucky. They are on the job 24/7 which gives us time to sit here and bitch about...well...everything. But they are the reason we are still able to do exactly that. Don't get complacent, man. Focus. While you are looking for the remote, someone on the other side of the world is looking for the safety.

and now for some truth...
There are some really great sites with messages to us from the citizens of Iraq. They have discovered the blog and are sending us their messages of hope. The people of Iraq are thankful to the U.S. for their freedom; they are anxious to join the rest of the world that they can only now access through pictures and the internet. Here is just a sampling of what is out there...
This inspiring message from Iraq at a glance, a blog created by a dentist in Baghdad. Says A.Y.S., the author - "Let the world know the real Iraqi people, the people who look for peace and justice, security , freedom and democracy..not those criminals who are shown on the channels kidnapping and killing the innocents in the name of ‘resistance and Islam’…there is NO ‘resistance’ in Iraq, there are AlQaida, Saddamis, Arabs and criminals who are destroying our country and the MNF, ING, IP and the IRAQI PEOPLE are fighting them….OK?"
Another blog, Healing Iraq , has this message for the world: "Our collective voice and efforts are reaching wider audiences day by day exposing them to the situation on the ground by people whose lives are involved and directly affected by it. We are intent on healing iraq from decades of abuse and to make it through these difficult times into a new phase of democracy, freedom, and prosperity."
The Iraqi Pro-Democracy Party tells us this: "We believe that we represent an important segment of the Iraqi people that was never organized before under any category as a result of the oppression of the past regime."
Don't expect to hear any of this on the nightly news. If there aren't grizly pictures or distorted facts meant to discourage us in our support for our President and the Armed Forces that are fighting for both the American people and the Iraqi people, it will never show up on any of the talking heads scripts. It is a sad fact that in order to discover the good news and positive reinforcement in this process we are forced to dig for it. But the good news is out there. You just have to be persistent, find it and then bounce it out to the rest of the listening audience.

It is a sad fact that in order to discover the good news and positive reinforcement in this process we are forced to dig for it. But the good news is out there. You just have to be persistent, find it and then bounce it out to the rest of the listening audience.
Kitty Kelley lying???
President Bush's former sister-in-law denied yesterday that she had given author Kitty Kelley any information about allegations of past drug use by Bush. According to this account in the Washington Post Sharon Bush, who is divorced from the president's brother Neil, said in a statement: "I categorically deny that I ever told Kitty Kelley that George W. Bush used cocaine at Camp David or that I ever saw him use cocaine at Camp David. When Kitty Kelley raised drug use at Camp David, I responded by saying something along the lines of, 'Who would say such a thing?'

Hoo boy - Kerry - "WRONG"!!
Power Line has information on a 1984 press release from Kerry's Senate office deriding President Reagan while advocating cancellation of weapons programs.
Hinderaker properly states: It's worth noting, I think, that Kerry wasn't just wrong in 1984. He was willfully obtuse. He didn't understand that Communism was wobbling and could be put down for the count by an aggressive defense buildup, as Reagan did. Instead, believing that the Soviet Union was strong and thriving, Kerry took the far more dangerous view that we scarcely needed to defend ourselves anyway. It's hard to see how a politician could have a more consistent history of wrong-headedness, over more than three decades, than John Kerry.

John Kerry - patriot?
Henry Mark Holzer and Erika Holzer have an excellent piece defining in 34 different ways exactly what it is that makes a patriot.
A “patriot” is “a person who loves and loyally or zealously supports his own country.” (Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language).
When one adds up these facts, one has every right to conclude, as we have, that John Kerry has never been, and is not now, a patriot—and more: that to say otherwise, is merely to pay lip service

Co-chairman of Kerry Campaign tries to smear President Bush
It does seem incredible, but Ben Barnes really is NOT the dream witness when trying to do a hit piece for Kerry on President Bush tonight on CBS. Besides being the co-chair for Kerry, he has donated more than $500,000 to Kerry's campaign.
According to Front Page Magazine - after he was involved in a bribery and stock fraud scandal in the early 1970s,” wrote leftwing Mother Jones Magazine, Barnes “never held office again. He was involved with a number of banks and thrifts that were mentioned during the S&L crisis, and forced into bankruptcy when the Texas thrift industry cratered in the late 1980s.”
Lieutenant Governor Barnes, whose seemingly inexorable rise to political prominence was ended when his reputation was tainted by the scandal.

The 'party of peace' attacks truck driver
Battle-scarred from skirmishes at the State Fair and the AFL-CIO Labor Day Rally, the "Truth Truck" of a gay-marriage opposition group was resting Tuesday in the St. Paul police impound lot, one place where it might not cause a public commotion.
The "Truth Truck," operated by Minnesota Citizens in Defense of Marriage, bears 8-foot-tall billboards showing two men kissing and the message "Want Gay Marriage? Vote Democrat this November."
The latest incident occurred Monday at Harriet Island Park in St. Paul, where some of an estimated crowd of 12,000 that came to hear Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards surrounded the truck, unleashing invectives and airborne objects

Iraq and nation building...
Just finished watching a segment of "Real Time With Bill Maher" because I was channel surfing. Howard Dean, Arianna Huffington (a REAL pol, ya), Andrew Sullivan and Jason Alexander. Notice how Maher stacks the deck? Why is that? Are the lefties so afraid of going one-on-one anymore that they have to outnumber their opposition?
Oh, and Pat Buchanan made a stop by via sattelite. What's up with Pat these days anyway? Oh, I forgot - he's schlepping his latest book. EVERYONE is writing a book these days! But that is a story for another day.
Maher has a good time trashing the president and his lamebrained audience always claps and cheers right on cue. Their hero is Michael Moore.
But one thing jumped out at me tonight when Maher went on another boring screed about Bush. He took Bush to task for nation building. Huffington screeched her agreement. Jason Alexander (what are his credentials? I forgot to ask) tried to pontificate that Bush has alienated 'the world'. Sullivan was difficult to read...supporting some of Bush's actions then stating that he wasn't voting for him for 'other reasons'.
Pat Buchanan made his point about Bush's pre-emptive war, then turned around and supported him, but clearly he was only supporting Bush because Kerry is unsupportable.
hmmmm...maybe a little history lesson is in order here....
"The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi government -- a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people. Bringing change in Baghdad will take time and effort. We will strengthen our engagement with the full range of Iraqi opposition forces and work with them effectively and prudently.
The decision to use force is never cost-free. Whenever American forces are placed in harm's way, we risk the loss of life. And while our strikes are focused on Iraq's military capabilities, there will be unintended Iraqi casualties.
Indeed, in the past, Saddam has intentionally placed Iraqi civilians in harm's way in a cynical bid to sway international opinion."
Guess who said those words? President Clinton on December 16, 1998.
President Bush said nothing new on this topic. The worst thing that happened - and probably played a huge role in what led to 9/11 - was for President Clinton to give a hawkish speech and then follow it up with nothing. (bombing an aspirin factory doesn't count) President Clinton trained the terrorists to turn a deaf ear to America's threats.
President Bush now has the terrorist's attention. They know he means what he says. That is why they want John Kerry to be president. But it will never happen.

Dick Gephart on the stump for Kerry
is more than a little ridiculous, don't you think? This morning on FoxNews Sunday, Chris Wallace asked some good questions but then let Gephart get away with not just spin but pure fantasy when trying to explain why Kerry voted for the $87 billion before he voted against it. Wallace tries to look like he is moderate (he knows he would never be able to pull off trying to look like a conservative) but even when he is trying to look more centrist you can see the mask slipping every time he opens his mouth.
Russia
If the reports are accurate and al Queda was responsible for the attack in Russia, Putin's response is going to play a critical role in how the world views and reacts to such heinous acts. We already have Spain and the Phillipines rolling over after attacks, or threats of an attack, and from some of the reports I gather that the Russian people are blaming Putin. Granted, the reporter that wrote the piece may have had a particular slant when writing his report.
I'll tell you, folks, after the AP story that went out last week about Bush allowing people to boo when he stated that president Clinton was in the hospital for heart surgery, my confidence in the media has gone down another notch - and there wasn't much room to go down any further! One would like to think that what you read in news reports is the 'truth' but after that stunt it really makes you question the veracity of anything else that is put out. I point you to the article, but as for verification of the truth that it contains...that is your guess as much as it is mine.

a little slow
this weekend...working on getting the polls ready for Tuesday's election, so haven't had much time to get online because any of my downtime is spent sleeping...if you need a good update while I am gone...Kerry Haters is a great blog and a fellow Phoenician...even when I am back 'on the job', check out his blog frequently because he has a lot of useful information...

the lady has no class...
It goes without saying that the entire country is hoping for a good outcome of President Clinton's bypass surgery next week.
The unbelievable thing is what I just heard Hillary say. After giving a brief update on his condition and pending surgery, she continued when she SHOULD have just stopped.
You all know exactly what I am talking about. When talking about higher taxes for the "Rich", the Clintons are eager to remind us often that they are now in that 'upper tax bracket'.
Today Hillary, in her usual style, left the 'medical update' message and wandered over to the 'political bias' message saying... "We are thankful that WE have good insurance. Hopefully there will be a day when everyone does". Yep. You betcha.

Bush Opens Double-Digit Lead in new TIME Poll
It keeps getting better - this just in - a new TIME poll has really encouraging news:
Campaign 2004: Bush Opens Double-Digit Lead
TIME Poll: Among likely voters, 52% would vote for President George Bush, while 41% would vote for John Kerry and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader

Bush camp hits ground running with a bounce
The Washington Times is reporting that "Even before President Bush closed the show by formally accepting the Republican nomination last night, a Rasmussen daily tracking poll had already given him a bounce.
In the head-to-head matchup with Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, Mr. Bush was the preference of 49 percent of likely voters yesterday, with 45 percent for Mr. Kerry.
It was the first time the president had reached the 49 percent mark in the poll since Mr. Kerry all but wrapped up his party's nomination in March, and the first time Mr. Bush had enjoyed a four-point lead since late April."
They go on to quote pollster John Zogby "While we had Bush getting 87 percent of Republican voter support in May -- that went down to 81 percent in June and July -- he'll leave here at 90 percent, and Kerry will be down under 80 percent with Democrats," Mr. Zogby said.

Miller vs. Matthews
I noticed that the Zell Miller skewering of Chris Matthews on Hardball video is nowhere to be found today on the internet so I am posting a link here. This is not the clearest copy, but you will get the context. MSNBC had the video on their website yesterday that was better quality, I'll keep looking for it.
This is an email that was sent to MSNBC. I doubt if they even read beyond the first sentence, but perhaps they should hear more of the same message from others:
Chris Matthews has grown so fond of himself that he doesn't realize what a fool he is.
I will tell you this, Chris, the statement that Zell Miller made about "It is the soldier, not the reporter, that has given us freedom of the press" was not an isolated one. If you had been listening, he went on with other items on the list about SOLDIERS.
Hard as it may be for you to believe, it isn't all about reporters, Chris! Get over your inflated, bloated, narcissism. You used to have something worth listening to.
by the way, I did NOT watch you on television. I saw your despicable treatment of a U.S. Senator on the internet - in a blog - the alternative media, Chris - where we can find the truth.

Navy Challenging Kerry's Medals
I am reposting this because I think the word has to be spread...
NewsMax is reporting that the Navy is challenging the authenticity of Sen. John Kerry's Vietnam War medals. According to NewsMax:
Kerry's campaign has repeatedly cited the Navy as the ultimate authority on the candidate's war record, saying the Navy wouldn't have awarded him medals he didn't deserve.
But with the Navy now publicly challenging Kerry's decorations, that defense has been rendered inoperative.
Folks, I don't know about you, but I am getting jazzed seeing that things are starting to happen at lightening speed. The Elite Media, in SPITE of their huge blockage efforts, are being drowned out with cries of "Let the truth be told!"

Have you noticed...
...that lately John Kerry has taken on the "Howard Dean" affectation when he speaks? His 'lilting' at the end of an 'anti-Bush' statement brings back memories...of the Dean-iac days...but it also indicates that Kerry is now grasping at straws....heh
heh..heh...BALLOONS
no problem, 'eh Mr. President......~grin~
DUBYA!!!
"this nation wants steady, principled leadership..."
Right on, Mr. President!
I am not going to repeat every line, you can find it elsewhere on the internet..just the ones that strike me....
We are on the path to the future — and we are not turning back.
During our emotional visit one of the Iraqi men used his new prosthetic hand to slowly write out, in Arabic, a prayer for God to bless America. I am proud that our country remains the hope of the oppressed, and the greatest force for good on this earth. that was a tear jerker, for sure
The terrorists are fighting freedom because that is what they fear and they should be afraid because...Freedom is on the March (note: could that also apply to the dems??)
The freedom of many, and the future security of our Nation, now depend on us. And tonight, my fellow Americans, I ask you to stand with me.
In the last four years, you and I have come to know each other. Even when we don't agree, at least you know what I believe and where I stand.
"If America shows uncertainty and weakness in this decade, the world will drift toward tragedy. This will not happen on my watch. " WOW
"Yet Americans, of all people, should never be surprised by the power of liberty to transform lives and nations.." wow...
LOL - loved his self effacing jokes
GW is so genuine...loved his tribute to our fallen...
This young century will be liberty's century. By promoting liberty abroad, we will build a safer world. By encouraging liberty at home, we will build a more hopeful America. Like generations before us, we have a calling from beyond the stars to stand for freedom. This is the everlasting dream of America — and tonight, in this place, that dream is renewed. Now we go forward — grateful for our freedom, faithful to our cause, and confident in the future of the greatest nation on earth.
YEA! May God continue to bless our country!

Tad Devine
Tad Devine was just on Hannity and Colmes. I could almost see the spittle hitting the camera as he hurled more snarky comments at the President.
Hey, Tad, didja ever figure out the difference between Kerry and Kerrey???
Hey, Tad, didja ever figure out the difference between Kerry and Kerrey???
the long, long knives of the democrats...
well, the democrats didn't wait one second until they unsheathed their long knives and began attacking Senator Zell Miller. But, one thing I don't think they fully calculated was the reaction from the right - a long and loud, very loud, collective sigh of relief and then gutteral yells as we ran to protect our friend.
Senator Miller stated last night, family is more important than the party. And what exactly, Senator, does that mean?
Oh, don't get me wrong, you and I know what that means - that question was for the liberals. They just don't get it. Their rhetoric, their hatred, their lies and their false accusations all become absolutely meaningless when contemplated with the option. THE OPTION.
Think about it, John Kerry and Terry McAuliffe. What difference will it make - even if the unbelievable happens, which it is not - if Kerry is elected and the next day...the next month...hell, even the next year...we are all obliterated. Okay, let's not be fatalistic. We are not ALL obliterated. New York is obliterated. Los Angeles is obliterated. Chicago is obliterated. Doesn't really matter where, the outcome would have the same effect no matter what the geographical location.
What difference would it make if we all had free socialistic health benefits if no one survived to take advantage of them? What difference would it make if everyone had a $2,000,000 per year job if no one survived to enjoy it?
Zell Miller's point has always been this - he is priortizing the reasons for voting for the candidate of choice in 2004 and that candidate is George W. Bush. Because for all the rhetoric, if our nation is not safe; if our people aren't protected - none of the rhetoric matters. None of it.
So, while the dems are reeling from Zell Millers fabulous speech last night, we need to remember one thing: they don't get it. While we might rejoice in the fact that Senator Miller finally gave a voice to all of our frustration and anger that has been building this last year, we cannot rest for ONE SECOND on our laurels. We need to be thankful for the shoring of our resolve...take a deep breath...and plunge forward. Get back into the fight. It is not over yet...but it is close.

McAuliffe continues with the smarmy lies
found this on the NRO blog site. So glad someone is objecting to McAuliffe's lie last night stating on Hannity andColmes that he received an email from a mom that claimed that she had to send their son a kevlar helmet while he was in Iraq. When I heard that I shouted out loud "NO WAY!"
"THIS MUST BE CHALLENGED" [Jonah Goldberg]
From an officer:
Jonah,
I'm sorry but it's about time someone with some credibility challenged yet another whopping lie from McAulliffe. He stated tonight on Hannity andColmes that he received an email from a mom that claimed that she had tosend their son a kevlar helmet while he was in Iraq.
This is an out and out lie. I just returned from Iraq in March and I cantell you without a doubt; No soldier would be allowed to leave a deploymentstation without a kevlar helmet. If he lost it in country it would bereplaced immediately, because his chain of command would not let him leavethe wire without one.
This feeds into the democratic myth of bake sales for body armor. I'mgetting sick of this crap not being challenged. As leaders in the US Army we would never let our troops operate without the proper protective gear. This is not a smear on the administration, but rather on leadership in the military and it can't go unchallenged.
Nobody will listen to a minion like me, but maybe you guys could provide a decent answer to this repeated crap. Thanks for your time.
