Oh, Did I Mention That Dick Cheney's Daughter...

There is a growing controversy over first Edwards, then Kerry mentioning Dick Cheney’s daughter’s sexual orientation.

If either of them were sincere – to quote the johns – in trying to ‘honor’ the love the Cheney’s have for daughter Mary, neither of the statements would have found their way to the debates.

It is becoming more evident that the Kerry campaign is devoid of human emotions…at least, it is absent the ones that you and I experience.

There are plenty of openly gay democrats that could have been mentioned in her place: McGreevey of New Jersey; Barney Franks; or Dick Gephardt’s daughter for that matter, if they were that intent on focusing on a child of a politician.

In fact, re-reading the transcript of both debates really is a jolt because it is crystal clear that both candidates weren’t really addressing the question, rather they were looking for an opportune time to get the subject of Dick Cheney’s daughter before the constituency.

No, this doesn’t pass the smell test folks.

The clear objective was to get the American public’s attention focused on Dick Cheney’s family and a blatant attempt to put a wedge between them and conservative voters.

Couple all of that with Elizabeth Edward’s dimwitted statement to ABC about Lynne Cheney’s ‘shame’ and you have what we apparently are witnessing now: the beginning of a meltdown.

Burn, baby, burn…when the embers are stoked by your own hand, I say lose the fire extinguishers…it is time to put this mess out of its misery.
