In the Overtime segment of his show last night, Bill Maher argued that America would be wise to drop the whole notion of American exceptionalism:
I really hate to give Maher any notice, but this is going too far. Like E.J. Dionne touched on, we ARE exceptional in the way we have embraced democracy (and freedoms) beyond any country in the history of the world. I believe it goes beyond just that, we ARE exceptional otherwise why would people risk their lives every day trying to get to this country, legally and illegally?
Of course, Maher has contributed ONE MILLION DOLLARS to Barack Hussein Obama's re-election efforts, so he has a vested interested in seeing that ObaMao gets to stay in our White House...we'll see about that!
