President Bush Nominates John C. Roberts to Fill Supreme Court Vacancy...Let the Debate Begin!

Leave it to President Bush to surprise everyone with his nominee for the Supreme Court. He didn't fall for the shenanigans of the liberal left...

I love this president!

Roberts is no stranger to the controversy over court appointments, nor is he a stranger to the inner workings of Washington politics and the Supreme Court:

The Washington Post reports tonight:

A likable lawyer who represented industries in cases at the Supreme Court before becoming an appeals court judge is President Bush's choice to fill his first high court vacancy.

John G. Roberts Jr., 50, who has been praised by conservatives and liberals, also has the shortest of track records to be attacked during the confirmation process.

If confirmed, he will return to the Supreme Court, where he clerked for Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and successfully argued many cases, both for the government and as a private lawyer.

Roberts was associate counsel to President Reagan from 1982-86 and then served in the first Bush administration, arguing cases before the Supreme Court from 1989-93.

Obviously Chuck-ie Schumer won't vote for him...nor will Kennedy or Durbin...WHO CARES!

Great job, Mr. President...

Thank you for taking your job seriously and offering up a candidate that will also take his job seriously in such a significant position.
