Cervantes, a man wanted for questioning in a July 10 triple slaying and double kidnapping outside Queen Creek, was drunk, not wearing a shirt, Rivas recalled. He and his children, 3-year-old Jennifer and 18-month-old Bryan, weren’t wearing shoes. Bryan wasn’t wearing pants.
Cervantes said his wife was waiting for him to cross the border between Nogales, Ariz., and Nogales, Mexico, the inspector told the Tribune in an interview Sunday. Because Cervantes didn’t have the correct paperwork, Mexican customs impounded the car.
Are you still prepared to tell me that we don't need to secure our borders?

It sits in a dusty, chain-linkfenced lot amid about 150 other cars.
Cervantes took the children in a taxi to a Nogales motel, and is still on the loose.
Cervantes and his children have been missing since July 10 when the children’s grandparents and uncle were found shot to death in a Queen Creek home. Grandparents Saul Lopez-Acosta, 63, and Trinidad Castro Acosta, 51, were shot in the head; and Jesus Manuel-Acosta, 17, the children’s uncle, was shot in the abdomen, the medical examiner’s office said Friday.
UPDATE: miraculously the perp has been captured and will be back to Arizona for trial
