Found this link to the NY Post on Kerry Haters blogspot. It is a great article by Ralph Peters, retired US Army, about Kerry's speech at American Legion's Na tional Convention on Wednesday.
Does Kerry have no shame at all? No spine, whatsoever? Is it possible to be nothing but a bundle of pure ambition, with no shred of ethics? Is Kerry so hungry for office that he'll change any position to buy a vote?
If President Bush shocks the Republican Convention tonight by coming out in favor of gay marriage, Kerry will immediately back a constitutional amendment to outlaw it.

I love the way Cheney delivers a speech, but after Zell bringing down the house, Cheney speech is coming off low key tonight.
He hasn't started on Kerry yet.

I think he is just warming up.

a senator can be wrong for 20 years in the Senate, but the President always casts the deciding vote. In these times, we need a president we can count on to get it right.
on Iraq, Senator Kerry disagrees with many, but his liveliest disagreement is with himself.

It was a nice speech, but I think anyone would have a difficult time following the "stand-on-your-seat-and-clap-yell-and-shout" speech that Zell Miller gave tonight.

WOW! Zell Miller just stated "My family is more important than my party".
"Where is the bipartisanship in this country when we need it most?"
"At the same time that our soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afganistan, our country is being torn apart because of the Democrats manic obsession in trying to bring down our Commander in Chief"
"Democrats are motivated more by partisan politics than national security"
He just keeps on with the great one liners!!
"Nothing makes this marine madder than calling our troops occupiers rather than liberators"
"Never in the history of the world has any soldier sacraficed more for a total stranger than the American soldiers"
"It is the soldier, not the reporter, that has given us freedom of the press"
"It is the soldier, not the agitator, that has given them the freedom to protest"
It is the soldier who salutes the flag...who serves under the flag...whose casket is draped in the flag...who gives the protester the freedom he abuses to burn that flag"
"No pair has been more wrong, more loudly, and more often, than the two senators from Massachusetts (did he also say North Carolina?)"
Miller gave a litany of the programs and equipment that Kerry opposed...and said "this is the man that wants to be the head of the armed forces? How are we going to arm them? With spitballs???"
speaking of the U.N. "John Kerry, who says he doesn't want outsourcing, wants to outsource our national security!"
"As a war protester, Kerry blamed the military; as a senator, Kerry weakened our military"
"George W Bush wants to grab terrorists by the throat and not let go so they can get a better grip."

This was one of the greatest political speeches in a long time. Exactly what the American public needed to hear. If you missed Zell Miller's speech, hopefully someone tivo'd it for you!

Did Patrick Leahy just acknowledge that Bush/Cheney will win?
Just heard Bill O'Reilly speak with Patrick Leahy (D) (senator from Vermont) about the 'incident' between Leahy and Dick Cheney on the Senate floor when VP Cheney used the 'f' word.
Something that Leahy said near the end of the segment really jumped out at me. O'Reilly asked Leahy if he and Cheney have spoken since that day. Leahy said no, they are out of session right now, but "...if I win re-election, we will have another chance when we return". Freudian slip? Huh? makes you think about it, doesn't it....they know...Bush is gonna win!

SBV send letter to Kerry
On the same day they released their fourth ad, Medals, the Swift Boat Vets sent another letter to John Kerry yesterday promising to call off its media campaign if the senator apologizes for his conduct after returning from Vietnam and resolves questions about his war record.
The letter referred to Kerry's speech today at the American Legion convention as an opportunity to help heal the wounds of angry veterans and set the record straight.

As you prepare for your address before the American Legion in Nashville, Tennessee, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth encourages you to use this opportunity to clarify your actions in Vietnam and your statements about your fellow Veterans and shipmates when you returned home. Since you have made your four-month tour in Vietnam the centerpiece of your campaign, we respectfully insist that you be truthful. The public is owed a full and honest accounting of your actions. Veterans are owed an apology from you and an acknowledgement that there was no basis in fact for the accusations you made against them.
We urge you to:
1. Apologize for your conduct once you returned from Vietnam. Your exaggerated testimony before the US Senate; the blanket indictment of your fellow veterans; throwing away medals and ribbons; all of these actions dishonored America and the armed forces. Your rhetoric and actions were not only wrong, they aided the enemy and brought great pain to POW's, veterans and their families.
2. Clarify the conflicting accounts involving the Bay Hap River incident of March 13, 1969 (Bronze Star and 3rd Purple Heart). You have now described three different versions of this incident. In the first version of this incident presented during the Democrat National Convention, you stated: "No man left behind," suggesting to the American people that you alone stayed on the river to rescue Mr. Rassmann. Later, when forced to acknowledge conflicting eyewitness testimony from fellow swift boat veterans, you said that your boat left the scene to return moments later to retrieve Jim Rassmann from the water. Yet, in another version of the same incident discovered in the Congressional Record, you reported that your boat struck a mine and Rassmann fell off the boat. Mr. Kerry, please explain to your fellow veterans and the American people which version is the truth.
3. Affirm that the injuries for which you received your purple hearts never required any medical treatment beyond perhaps a bandage and that, in all instances, these injuries were self-inflicted and came from your own weapon. Further, that if any of these purple hearts were falsely awarded, that you would not have been eligible to leave Vietnam after serving only four months.
4. Acknowledge what your own biographer is now saying, that the Christmas in Cambodia claim is "obviously wrong,” that you were never in Cambodia over Christmas or any other time during your brief, four-month tour in Vietnam and that your statements before the United States Senate in 1986 were false.
If you undertake these steps we will be satisfied that the American public has been sufficiently apprised as to these aspects of your career, and we will discontinue the media advertisements you have sought so fervently to silence.
Please know that Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are eager to close our own personal chapters on Vietnam and instead focus on the war we're currently fighting—the ongoing war on terrorism. In the absence of full public disclosure and a public apology, we will continue efforts to carry our message to an ever-expanding base of grassroots supporters.
Senator Kerry, we want to get Vietnam behind us. But, we can only do so if the truth is told.

More McAuliffe...
Go to Captain's Quarters and you will find not only his report on the Hewitt/McAuliffe slaughter, but another McAuliffe action piece when he and Sean Hannity sparred. I would hate to have McAuliffe's job. But then, when you look at his history, this is all second nature. Lies, lies and more lies. How does he keep 'em all straight...???

oh boy - Hugh hit one out of the ballpark today. You could tell when McAuliffe was running out of playbook answers and getting angry and frustrated when he began to call Hewitt "Hughie". Kerry's Meets the Press...
Found this on Kerry Haters, a link to History News Network, which is the transcript from the May 6, 2001 Tim Russert interview of Senator John Kerry on Meet the Press. In the course of the interview, Mr. Russert asked the senator about his views on Vietnam. This is the one where Kerry admits to committing atrocities in VietNam. I mean, it 's in his own words, out of his mouth..

Arnold is doing a fantastic job. He has hit every high note right on que. And his description of what is a Republican - outstanding! A portion:
"If you believe that this nation and not the United Nations is the best hope for democracy, then you are a Republican.
And ladies and gentlemen, if you believe that we must be fierce and relentless and terminate terrorism, then you are a Republican.

It is so good to celebrate being an American
...I have to tell you that even I have gotten discouraged sometimes lately. The hatred that has been spewing all over us from the left has almost choked me. And every time I pick myself up, dust everything off, and get back to it.
I sort of get the impression that the delegates to the RNC have been experiencing the same thing. You can see it in their faces, it is so good to celebrate being an American. It is so good to yell and shout in support of our President.
So much attention has been focused on what is wrong with our country, it is difficult some days to even get up and go to work. The negative message from Kerry and Edwards - that isn't about me! And I don't think it's about you. So how do they get so many people drinking the kool-aid?
But, this is not about Kerry - or Edwards. This is about all of the positive people that are supporting our president in his re-election. I am proud to be a supporter of George W. Bush. He has already made history. And, I expect him to continue doing more of exactly that for the next four years.

Guiliani is so genuine
Rudy Guiliani definitely has a political future, whatever he wants I would think. The delegates are really warming up to him. I came back to note that both Guiliani and McCain made a point to recognize Dick Cheney, and the delegates are definitely supporting him.
McCain and Moore
I watched it on C-Span, Editor and Publisher is also reporting that at one point McCain referred to a certain "disingenuous film-maker" and seemed to glance at Moore above him. The crowd went wild. And they were not in favor of Mr. Slobby. The boos started and continued so long, that McCain made the same statement again. Typical Moore flashed the 'loser' sign. Must've been referring to himself.
