In a tragic event, three black teens shot Christopher Lane, an Australian going to college in Oklahoma, in the back as he jogged:
Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford said he had secured the confession of the 17-year-old who summoned investigators to his jail cell and claimed he and the younger boys were bored "so they decided to kill somebody".
"he said he was the driver of the car," Chief Ford said.
"They saw Christopher jog by the house they were at, they chose him to be the target, they got in the car, drove up behind him and shot him in the back.
"He said the 16-year-old fired the shot."
The remarkable thing about the article in the Herald Sun is that the focus is on lack of gun control in America and not the fact that this is a black on white crime, something the media refuses to even admit exists.
Mr Fischer, who led Australia's gun control reforms alongside former prime minister John Howard in 1996, said choosing not to travel to the US would help build pressure on the US Congress to finally act.
"Tourists thinking of going to the USA should think twice," Mr Fischer said.
"This is the bitter harvest and legacy of the policies of the NRA that even blocked background checks for people buying guns at gunshows.
"People should take this into account before going to the United States.
"I am deeply angry about this because of the callous attitude of the three teenagers (but) it's a sign of the proliferation of guns on the ground in the USA.
"There is a gun for almost every American."
SHAME ON MR. FISCHER FOR TAKING THIS TRAGIC LOSS AND TURNING IT INTO HIS PLATFORM TO FURTHER HIS AGENDA!
As for Mr. Fischer's claim that the NRA blocked background checks for buying guns at gun shows, this is AN OUTRIGHT LIE. SALES BY DEALERS AT GUN SHOWS ALREADY GO THROUGH THE NATIONAL INSTANT CHECK.
NO amount of gun control would have prevented this. Gun control laws are followed by law abiding citizens. Criminals will obtain guns as they always do...through illegal channels...stealing them and by whatever other means they can without registering them...
If these "bored" black teens didn't have a gun, they would have use whatever else they could find to carry out the crime - tire jack, hammer, knives...guns don't kill people, criminals do.
If Mr. Fischer wants to become hysterical, why doesn't he focus on the facts:
Three self-claimed 'bored' black teens chose a white jogger as their victim, got in their car, drove up behind the jogger and shot the jogger in the back.
