CBS "CRACKED" reporter, John Roberts, made the following insulting attack this morning according to Drudge:

CBSNEWS Chief White House correspondent John Roberts described the President’s selection of Judge Samuel Alito as “sloppy seconds” during today’s press gaggle with White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan.

John Roberts: “So, Scott, you said that -- or the President said, repeatedly, that Harriet Miers was the best person for the job. So does that mean that Alito is sloppy seconds, or what?”

Scott McClellan: “Not at all, John.”

Sloppy seconds” is described in the United Kingdom’s A Dictionary of Slang as:

Noun: “A subsequent indulgence in an activity by a second person involving an exchange of bodily fluids. This may involve the sharing of drink, or more often it applies to a sexual nature. E.g. ‘I’m not having sloppy seconds, I want to shag her first.’”

CAUTION: Price Caps Is Only a TEMPORARY Solution...

...what really needs to happen is finding a long-term solution to our oil sources and prices...

And there are many options that need to be considered...but I caution anyone that thinks that putting permanent price caps in place is the only solution...

If you are in doubt, one only needs to look at the energy crisis that was created in California when price caps were instituted...

Yes, the consumers fared better...FOR A WHILE...

When you have price caps in place eventually you will find government subsidizing necessary if the companies are going to remain operational...which is exactly what happened in California:

As a result of the 1996 restructuring, the privately owned (non-municipal) utilities were subject to provisions that made it uneconomical for them to enter into long-term contracts. Public Utilities Commission rules created strong incentives for them to buy electricity only from the state-run Power Exchange on the short term, making the utilities subject to spikes in wholesale markets. On the Power Exchange, the longest term market for purchase was one day in advance; the short term was 10 minutes in advance....

“So there was no long-term protection for the investor-owned utilities..(snip)...If you are selling to retail customers who don’t want price fluctuations, the way to operate is through long-term contracts to have that security.”

The situation resulted in the draining of all financial assets of the investor-owned utilities, the bankruptcy of Pacific Gas & Electric, and the near-bankruptcy of Southern California Edison.

And there is another wrinkle when considering what is happening to our gas prices....the competition is getting smaller and smaller...

What do I mean?

Well, think about it...companies are merging...companies are being bought out...which leaves fewer companies competing against each other...which eventually leads - or COULD LEAD - to higher prices...

Is that what is happening right now? Who knows for sure?

Are the gas companies raising prices in line with what they are paying for the crude oil?

A lot to consider...hopefully our legislators won't move to put price caps in place...at least not permanent ones...with the speed that they raced to the cameras after Exxon announced a profit...

Obviously companies are in business to make money for not only themselves but their investors as well...

Let's slow down and take a good look at what really is going on before making a knee-jerk decision that will give good face time on the news channels...

It might buy you votes today...but it also might create a worse crisis in the future...

Long-term solutions...that's what we need...

This anti-American professor ALWAYS denies saying what he says...accusing people of misquoting him...yet he always refuses to allow tape recorders into his sessions...

Get stopped for criminal driving behavior and get your fingerprints taken...No IF's, AND's or BUT's...IT'S THE LAW...

This is a modified version of a program that is already in place...but THAT ONE was voluntary...

Now... it is mandatory for drivers that are cited for criminal violations:

...drivers cited for criminal violations, such as driving more than 20 mph over the speed limit, must ink their thumbs or be jailed....

...And the program is being expanded to the entire county....

Ronny McDonald Prevails! Cheeseburger Bill Passes In House

The US House of Representatives voted 306-120 on Oct. 19 passing a bill that shields fast-food chains from lawsuits that claim their foods cause obesity.

The bill titled Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act of 2005 (nicknamed "cheeseburger bill") was sponsored by Rep. Ric Keller from Florida and 85 other representatives.

The cheeseburger bill stems from lawsuits accusing McDonald's of causing obesity in tens of thousands of children, according to the Associated Press (AP). The fast food industry asked Congress and state legislatures to protect them from lawsuits blaming their food for obesity. 21 states have already agreed.

The proponents for the bill say consumers can't blame the food service industry for weight gain. The AP quoted Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. as saying, "you cannot litigate personal choices and lifestyles."

Critics complain that the bill does not encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, and instead pleases the food industry....

Katrina Refugees Evacuees Binge on Cape: Spend Fed Csh on Booze, Strippers...Some Say They Are Abusing Taxpayers...

Gov. Mitt Romney yesterday acknowledged that alcohol abuse has been a problem among Hurricane Katrina evacuees since their arrival on Cape Cod last month, but said there was little the state could do to stop the refugees from spending their federal money on booze.

"It was quite obvious in the first day or two that we might have an issue with alcohol,'' Romney said, responding to a Herald report that some of the 235 evacuees used their $2,000 federal relief handouts to binge on liquor in public....

The debit card system adopted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Red Cross assumes that most people will act – and spend – responsibly, especially in the wake of a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina. Herald reporters Maggie Mulvihill and David Wedge have discovered otherwise.

Some of the Katrina evacuees housed at Camp Edwards on the Cape have used those stipends to buy liquor and to fund visits to a local strip club. And because booze was banned on the base itself, sometimes the good times were rolling at a Falmouth strip mall, where public drinking turned into a police matter...

This is really a sad situation...

The Tide Is Turning: Iraqi Recruits Prepare to Fight al Zarqawi's Followers

Special operations personnel from both the U.S. Navy and Army finished several weeks of training for the Iraqi Army's newest soldiers just outside Camp Fallujah Oct. 6.

The new Soldiers learned individual and squad movements, reaction to enemy fire and other necessary skills they will use as they join their units.

All the graduates from this course are from the same tribe in western Al Anbar Province near Al Qaim along the Syrian border. The men joined to fight the terrorists who have brought violence to their homes, villages and cities of western Iraq.

"The families and people of Iraq need to be rid of the terrorists. Iraq will only be better if we get more people to join and fight," said Pvt. Abdel.

"I'm going to fight al Zarqawi's followers," Pvt. Ghedha proudly proclaimed one day during a break at the rifle marksmanship range.

"We're going to take everything we learn here and go back and fight the terrorists."

And here is the key phrase:

"Iraq needs us to fight," he continued. "This is our country and we need to fight to keep it safe."
