The Fall-out From Terri Schiavo Begins...

...many of you have been following the case of Mae Magouirk, an 81 year old widow that was put in hospice and, at the request of her niece, denied food and water...

Luckily for her, her nephew was able to step in and intervene...I have been following the progress of this one, too...

...but the tone has been set...the precedent has been set...this is only the first of many, many cases where people will see an opportunity to get rid of others that are 'no longer living useful or fulfilling lives'...according to their standards...according to their rules...

Doesn't matter what the reason...the fact remains that some in our society are moving towards the euthanasia concept without really thinking the consequences through...or maybe they have...maybe all it really boils down to is one thing: "ME"

In other words...get rid of someone because:

- they are in MYway
- it is inconvenient for ME to take care of them
- this isn't fun anymore for ME
- I don't have time for this!
- *I* wouldn't want to live like that
- can't they hurry up and die (I need their money)

Because, after all, it really is all about you - isn't it?
