How Terrorists Deal With the Truth...

Today Al Qaeda's wing in Iraq dismissed Sunday reports that top aides of its leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been arrested, saying U.S.-led forces were trying to boost low morale, according to an Internet statement.

"And who knows which aide was arrested and what lies they made up. This is a hopeless attempt on their part to raise morale," said the statement by Al Qaeda Organization for Holy War in Iraq, posted on Islamist Web sites.

"We give our brothers the good news that our leaders are absolutely fine, thank God, and leading the ranks of the faithful in battle," it said.

Sorta reminds me of this guy....

"They are not near Baghdad. Don't believe them.... They said they entered with... tanks in the middle of the capital. They claim that they - I tell you, I... that this speech is too far from the reality. It is a part of this sickness of their plan. There is no an... - no any existence to the American troops or for the troops in Baghdad at all."

Million Dollar Baby: Half-Brother of Saddam Hussein Captured

With a million dollar bounty on his head, Sabawi Ibrahim Hasan Tikriti, Saddam Hussein's half-brother has been captured in Iraq...

Thaer Hasan Naqib, spokesman for Iraq's interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, said Sabawi's capture was the result of the government's commitment "to chase down and arrest all the criminals . . . esponsible for Iraqi bloodshed and bring them to justice."

Tikriti is No. 36 on the U.S. military's list of 55 most-wanted figures of Hussein's government. According to U.S. Central Command, he is among more than a score of Iraqis sought because of their involvement in supporting insurgent groups. The U.S. government has offered a $1 million reward for his arrest.

Tikriti and Hussein had the same mother but different fathers....

Whether it is U.S. forces or the newly empowered and energized Iraqi forces that does the honors, al-Zarqawi knows with certainty that his days are numbered...

Liberalism and the Kerry Syndrome

Ann Coulter's take on the liberal's outcry over Jeff Gannon is right on the mark...

...Coulter points out that the libs seem to be on a witch hunt in going after Gannon, exposing the fact that he is gay...I thought they were supposed to be on his side on that one...

Liberals keep telling us the media isn't liberal, but in order to retaliate for the decimation of major news organizations like the New York Times, CBS News and CNN, all they can do is produce the scalp of an obscure writer for an unknown conservative Web page. And unlike Raines, Rather and Jordan, they can't even get Gannon for incompetence on the job. (Also unlike Raines, Rather and Jordan, Gannon has appeared on television and given a series of creditable interviews in his own defense, proving our gays are more macho than their straights.)

Gannon didn't write about gays. No "hypocrisy" is being exposed. Liberals' hateful, frothing-at-the-mouth campaign against Gannon consists solely of their claim that he is gay.

I think the left has caught the Kerry Syndrome...flip-flopping all over themselves, they are...

it's no wonder no one takes them seriously anymore...

Iraq the Model: Blogging vs Terror

A beautiful thing is spreading in Iraq....

Democracy...freedom...and the people are beginning to feel stronger and more confident about their ability to fight the terrorists themselves and preserve the future for their children and grandchildren...

From Iraq the Model is this message from Mohammed, one of the two brothers that run the blog...they are traveling through Iraq speaking to people, teaching them about the power of blogging and their ability to spread the truth quickly to the outside world...

The blogs can be a powerful weapon in the face of terror and we will have our network which will be for sure stronger than the terrorists'. There is just a few of them while we are the majority and this was seen clearly on the great elections day.

How beautiful is that!

What better way to utilize the power of blogging? Supporting the REAL freedom fighters as they work to ensure that the new democracy finds it legs and begins to walk...

When speaking about the terror threat from Syria, Mohammed said this:

The broadcasted confessions of Syrian elements who work for the intelligence give a clue about what's being planned for Lebanon.

Some of us got panicked by the scenes and the statements of those butchers but one guy from the team said "we will strike back through blogs" I agreed with his words so I told my friends about a short conversation I had with someone a few months ago; that person said that terrorists have the capability to prepare video clips for their operations and have them broadcasted on the web in less than 48 hours.

Well, that's fine, now we're going to expose the terrorists and their evil doings and show it to the public opinion in Iraq and the world in a matter of few hours or even sometimes in minutes and the world then will hear our voice first before the terrorists can get their ugly voice out.

Most of the terror activities are run from bases in Syria and a few other places outside Iraq but the future blogs will be here right on the event spot itself. The people will have the ability to show their activities and thoughts and publish them faster and more often than the idiotic terrorists and this way the people (the freedom lovers) will feel stronger and more united and this can make them even more determined to confront the threats.

We've already seen this happening in a limited manner through the number of blogs that are linked to by the friends of democracy website; they were able to get the news to the readers way faster than the media did.
One blog has exposed a few aspects of the crimes of the Syrian regime against the Kurds in Syria and today, one blogger from Najaf was the 1st source to publish pictures for some terrorists trying to enter the Iraqi lands from Saudi Arabia.

This is very, very good news...the Iraqi people are finding their confidence again...helping their fellow citizens to find theirs...and in that way, they will find the strength to fight the terrorists...and rid their region of the cancerous growth that is terrorism...

Key Lieutenant for the Zarqawi Network Captured

The Iraqi government is claiming to have captured aides to Jordanian-born terrorist Abu Mussab Al-Zarqawi.

The government said in a statement that Talib Mikhlif Arsan Walman Al-Dulaymi, also known as Abu Qutaybah, was captured during a Feb. 20 raid in Anah, about 260 km northwest of the capital.

“Abu Qutaybah was responsible for determining who, when and how terrorist network leaders would meet with Zarqawi,” the government said.

He “filled the role of key lieutenant for the Zarqawi network, arranging safe houses and transportation as well as passing packages and funds to Zarqawi,” the government said. “His extensive contacts and operational ability throughout western Iraq made him a critical figure in the Zarqawi network.”

Also captured was a man identified as Ahmad Khalid Marad Ismail Al-Rawi, who also helped arrange meetings for Zarqawi and who “occasionally acted as his driver.”

Both names are Iraqi and belong to well-known Sunni tribes in and around the town of Ramadi, a hotbed of the insurgency in Anbar province west of Baghdad.

Eighty-Four Percent of Criminals That Appeal to Arizona Get Exemption

That is a statement that was just made while discussing the cesspool that we have here in Arizona over at Child Protective Services (CPS)

A caller who works for the AZ government, had a fingerprint test, but was told that if anything came back that was negative - she would be fired...

...okay...seems fair to me...

...but we have those fifty-five (55) employees who failed the fingerprint tests that are still on the payroll....what about them?

I just heard that if a person fails the fingerprint/background check when seeking employment with AZ they can appeal...

In other words, they can keep their job if they appeal, even if they do not pass the stop gaps put in place to protect the public...eighty-four percent (84%) of the criminals that appeal are granted their appeal and stay on the job...EIGHTY-FOUR PERCENT!

So my question today is...

Why have the damn expense and trouble of doing fingerprints and background checks in the first place??

Here's Something You WON'T See at the Oscars

Well, this is sorta fun...remember a couple of years ago what the hype for the Oscars was?

Friday, March 21, 2003 12:01 a.m. EST
With Hollywood in a fever pitch against the war in Iraq, Michael Moore is likely to win the Oscar for Best Documentary at Sunday's Academy Awards. "Bowling for Columbine," Mr. Moore's work of anti-American propaganda, has grossed over $15 million, an amazing sum for a film billed as a documentary. But the film, a merry dissection of America's "culture of fear" and love of guns, is filled with so many inaccuracies and distortions that it ought to be classed as a work of fiction.
Mr. Moore is naturally a big hit among the French. The jury at the Cannes Film Festival created a special, one-time only award to honor his film and then gave it a 13-minute standing ovation. "Not since Gore Vidal and Norman Mailer have we seen such a successful export of anti-Americanism," observes Andrew Sullivan in London's Sunday Times.

Thankfully, Moore won't have a chance this year to denegrate the president on the academy awards stage...

Not to say he didn't want it...HE DID...oooohhh...he wanted it in the worst way...in fact, if you remember last fall Moore made the announcement that he wasn't going to submit “Fahrenheit 9/11” for consideration as best documentary at this year’s Academy Awards. Instead, he’s going for the bigger prize of best picture....

...Regardless of who wins the election, Moore said the movie’s presence at the Academy Awards in February will provide another forum for Americans to think about its message....

heh...best laid plans...

:::Yawn:::: mmmm... Did Somebody Say Something?:::

The New York Times is reporting that Hollywood Catches Case of Oscar Blahs...

This shouldn't be surprising given the fact that practically every other weekend there is another awards show where these Hollywood bimbos are slapping each other on the back, telling them what a wonderful job they have done and what a wonderful person they are and what a great dress they are wearing...

....BORING!

Now there is even a name for this malaise: Award fatigue (have you noticed how people have to name everything?...it's weird...)

...but they are starting to get the point..."How often can you see the same person win the same award and not be fatigued by it?"

The Times also observed: It hasn't helped that viewership for the Golden Globes plunged by nearly 40 percent this year, and that the Grammys, just two weeks ago, suffered poor ratings, too. What if Hollywood holds an awards show and America doesn't show up?

Well, now, *THAT* could be a problem...

...they ARE trying to 'sex up' the show by inviting Chris Rock to host it...but that has presented its own set of problems...

...but, you know, perhaps the real issue is this - People just don't really CARE who is going to be onstage right now...we are dealing with our own set of problems - and I tell ya, I don't need to listen to some self-absorbed, insecure, hormone-injected, implanted, face-lifted, botox-infused, ACTOR!

I don't...

If I need to escape reality for a couple of hours, I'll go to the movies...or rent the DVD...but I don't need to subject myself to the phony hype anymore...because at the end of the day, whoever wins any of the self-awarded trophies won't have a scintilla of influence of what happens in the world that I live in...

...and I doubt it will affect yours either...

Doug Wead - Back-Stabbing, Back-Tracker

Well, let's see...I'm thinking that Doug Wead realizes that - as they say in the South - he shit in his nest, and is now doing the fast backtracking in an attempt to undo the damage...unfortunately, I don't think it can be undone....

- First of all, that he actually taped private conversations with someone that was considering running for president of the United States of America...when he was an evangelical adviser to the man...

- Secondly, that he now releases those tapes at a time that just happens to coincide with the release of a new book...(I don't care how much he denies it, it was a publicity stunt)

- Thirdly, now that he sees the reaction and recoiling from him after he revealed himself to be less than trustworthy as a 'friend'...now, he decides to apologize and declare that "history can wait"...

HA!

Maybe he didn't think it all the way through...but, usually when someone is discovered to be a traitor....well...suffice it to say he will be wearing the proverbial scarlet letter from this day forward...

"I know Doug Wead," said James Dobson, the influential founder of the evangelical group Focus on the Family who acknowledged receiving a "heads up" before the newspaper report appeared.

"I am shocked by his breach of trust and his relationship with then-Gov. Bush, who had welcomed him into his confidence."

"I would say it wasn't all that great a career move if he wants to speak at evangelical events," said Richard Land, president of the ethics and religious liberty commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.

"My thanks to those who have let me share my heart and regrets about recent events," Wead wrote in the statement, posted on his Web site Tuesday. "Contrary to a statement that I made to the New York Times, I know very well that personal relationships are more important than history."

Too late...

My grandma always said...once the toothpaste is squoze from the tube...it ain't going back in...

Academia and it's "Leaders" are Rotten...to the Core...

Roger Bowen, General Secretary of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), was on a Scarborough Country segment tonight arguing and defending his position that:

1 - There are not a plethera of liberal professors in academia...
2 - "As far as I know, most conservatives want to go into banking (as opposed to academia)...
3 - "...if you have a PHD and the right credentials, of *COURSE* a conservative, republican professor can attain tenure..."

...which is all bullshit, as we all know...

David Horowitz was on to argue the opposite point, stressing the extremism that is the universe on campus...and the best that Roger Bowen could do to react was to snicker and grin...as if Horowitz was off his rocker...

That's the trouble with the poisonous atmosphere today on college campuses...too long have the liberals been able to control every single aspect of their fiefdoms until now as we witness the nuclear meltdown and fallout...

Ward Churchill is but a miniscule portion of the problem...obviously he has been allowed to preach hate propaganda against everything America to our students...and - at least, until now - he has been unfettered in that practice...but, we all have an Achilles Heel...Ward Churchill is no different...the fact that he has lied...continously lied...about his Native American heritage...knowing every single time that he acknowledged his 'heritage' that it was a lie...only makes him a common criminal of sorts...

Don't give me that look!

Churchill falsified information on an application...the only reason he was hired as an Ethnic Studies 'expert' - beating out, by the way, how many other REAL EXPERTS??

Falsifying information on an application for employment is not small potatoes, folks...Churchill's days are numbered...

He has hidden behind the skirts of the First Amendment for too long...it is time to cut the strings....

It is only a start...we need to open the windows...pull up the curtains...shed some light on the cesspool that apparently is simmering on some of these campuses......and make sure that there is at least some semblance of balance in these institutes for higher learning...

al-Zarqawi, You Are So History

"They came very close to capturing him," one of the Kurdish officials said. "They had never been this close previously, and it means that the new intelligence they're gathering is much better than before."

The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, would not say where and when the raids took place.

Al-Zarqawi's close calls are one sign that his militant network in Iraq has sustained serious losses and may be unraveling. Since early this month, Iraqi and U.S. forces have carried out a series of little-noticed raids in Baghdad, Mosul and other areas that led to the killing or capture of at least eight al-Zarqawi operatives....

Child Protective Services in Arizona Only Protects The Jobs of Criminals

Fifty-five employees with criminal records....

No, I did NOT say 'former employees'....

Where do they work, you ask?

Why, right here in Arizona at our own Child Protective Services...CPS...and we just had another murder of a three year old little girl who was beaten to death by a 'friend' of the family...a little, helpless three year old girl to whose house CPS has been called at least EIGHT TIMES in the past after hearing complaints about child abuse...and CPS never found a problem in that house...

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!!??

Morning local radio talk show host, Bruce Jacobs, has been holding call-in lines open the past two days for ANY legislator that is willing to step up to the plate in support of REAL REFORM in CPS, but only one has taken advantage of the opportunity...

...and our governor? You saw her last year at the Democratic National Convention...Janet Napoletano...all talk and no action...yep, that's our Janet...

According to this article by Laurie Roberts, the lone voice of reason at the AZ Republic:

Despite all the vows over all the years and all the reforms actually enacted last year, nothing ever seems to change.

Not so, says the Governor's Office. Gov. Janet Napolitano's press aide sent me eight pages of changes at CPS since the governor set her sights on reform in 2003. They include more money for child abuse prevention, more joint investigations with police and a commitment to investigate 100 percent of the calls alleging abuse or neglect.

That's news to Bob Meko, principal at C.O. Greenfield School in south Phoenix. Since August, he and the school nurse, Jennifer Dennis, have called CPS about four students they believe are being abused or neglected. CPS followed up on one.

According to a report from ABC, last year CPS INSTIGATED a policy that case workers had to pass a background check...that's right...it was NEVER REQUIRED PRIOR TO THAT...after the background checks were performed, FIFTY-FIVE CASEWORKERS WERE FOUND TO HAVE CRIMINAL BACKGROUNDS!!

Those criminals weren't fired on the spot...oh no...can't do that...nope...they still are on the job...collecting their paychecks...we, the taxpayers, are still contributing to their retirement fund...yep...the wonderful world of CPS under Janet Napoletano's watchful eye...

In November, CPS notified the governor's office of the situation...Napoletano has continued to declare "CPS reform is a success"...but the criminals are still on the job...still collecting paychecks...and children are still suffering and dying...

Governor Napoletano, the Democrat legislators, and the Arizona Republic (which is NOT a newspaper - it is the propaganda tool for our guv) - all of them chastised...screamed about the 'stingy Republicans' for not throwing more money to CPS...so the purse strings were opened...money has been directed at CPS...and now we find out that criminals are on the payroll...and children are still suffering and dying...

Roberts writes:

It has been the same old story since China Marie Davis. CPS put her into foster care in December 1992 and spent 10 months ignoring her injuries. By the time she died in October 1993, the 2-year-old had endured two broken collarbones, six arm fractures, a broken rib, a broken hand, two broken legs, two broken wrists and a compression fracture of the spine. CPS did an internal review and vowed to change. Just as they've done so many internal reviews since then, on so many dead children they were supposed to protect. Just as they've made so many vows to change.

And yet Angelene Plummer died last week. This, after eight reports of abuse in that home and eight findings from CPS that no abuse had occurred.

"Generally speaking, I've never seen or felt that CPS does what it's supposed to do," said Meko, a principal in Arizona for 27 years. "But now, it's worse than ever."

And still...more children are suffering and dying...

...and now we know why...

Governor Janet Napoletano and the thugs she hires would rather keep criminals on the payroll than protect our children...and she DARES to tell us that she is a person with family values...

Indian Country Today: Ward Churchill, Pseudo-Indian

Suzan Shown Harjo has written a column about Ward Churchill with some very strong words to all involved:

During the Santa Fe Indian Market, Churchill was peddling a scandal sheet, railing against White Earth Chippewa artist David Bradley and the New Mexico and federal Indian arts and crafts laws, it turned out that Churchill was a painter — not a good one, but bad art is not illegal — who would face stiff penalties if he promoted his work as made by an Indian if he were not, in fact, an Indian.

You can see the problem, since Churchill is not an Indian and he could face repercussions for holding himself and his art out as Native American...well...instead of acting withing the parameters of the law...bully everyone involved...and if that doesn't work...let's kill the messenger!...

People began to check out Churchill's claims. Cherokee journalist David Cornsilk verified that Churchill and his ancestors were not on the Cherokee Nation rolls. Creek-Cherokee historian Robert W. Trepp did not find them on the Muscogee (Creek) Nation rolls.
Churchill lashed out against tribal leaders, sovereignty, citizenship and rolls, attacking Native people who did not support his claims as "card-carrying Indians" and "blood police."

Then, he went tribe-shopping. He added Metis, then Keetoowah, variously claiming to be an associate member, an enrolled member or 1/16 or 3/16 Cherokee....

Hank Adams, who is Assiniboine-Sioux and a member of the Frank's Landing Indian Community, has successfully researched and exposed other pseudo-Indians.

Adams traced Churchill's ancestors on both sides of his family, finding all white people, including documented slave owners and at least one spy, but zero Indians....

Slave Owners?? Did she say slave owners??

....and a Spy?....hmmm...this gets more and more interesting as each layer of this onion is peeled away...

Harjo's concern is that Churchill will not be discriminated against on the basis of being Indian...

It's important for Native people to speak out in order to counter the sort of thing that Churchill, even after being so very publicly unmasked, is now telling reporters: that he is Indian by virtue of community acceptance over a prolonged period. While some people in Colorado believe one or another of his stories, no Native nation and no Indian community of interest accepts him as one of their own.

Native artists never knew nor embraced him, either as an artist or as a Native person.

She also makes a valid point by comparing Churchill to Jayson Blair:

Churchill once worked for news outlets, but has not been accepted as a Native journalist, particularly by those he's viciously attacked after they reported what they found: that he could not substantiate his Indian claims.

(This note is for any reporters and editors who are confused: Churchill is the Stephen Glass, Jayson Blair and Jack Kelley of American Indian studies, but without their talent. Churchill simply makes it up, too, plus he invents Indian credentials. Keep in mind that no one accused their papers of violating free speech when they fired frauds for cause.) *note: my emphasis

Churchill got jobs, promotions, tenure and the Ethnic Studies chair at the University of Colorado because he portrayed himself as American Indian.

Now he's wrapped himself in the First Amendment, carefully draped over his Indian blanket. He's threatening to sue if he's fired for breach of contract or for the shameful things he said about the 9/11 victims.

The university should fire him because he has perpetrated a fraud, and moral turpitude is a deal-breaker. The university shielded him from those who tried to reveal the truth and looked the other way as he attacked a lot of decent Native people.

If he sues, he will have to come into court as the American Indian man he has claimed to be, and how is he going to do that? It is time for the university to end this charade.

oh my...do I hear the Fat Lady warming her singing voice up?...

Native Americans Call for Ward Churchill's Removal

Suzan Shown Harjo, a Cheyenne/Hodulgee Muscogee, is the respected president and executive director of the Morning Star Institute, a national Indian rights and cultural-advocacy organization. Harjo torched Churchill in a message she sent to Colorado's chancellor and Board of Regents:

"The University of Colorado promotes this deception by holding Churchill out as a Native person. Many Native Peoples have called this deception to the attention of the University of Colorado, only to be ignored and to see Churchill promoted and given tenure. Churchill ... has never been able to substantiate any of his many, varied and conflicting claims to be a Native person. He stands exposed and isolated in the community of Native Peoples, but cloaked in the security of the University of Colorado. It is long past time that the university take action to remove itself as a participant in Churchill's deception."

The American Indian Movement "once again is vehemently and emphatically repudiating and condemning the outrageous statements made by academic, literary and Indian fraud Ward Churchill in relationship to the 9/11 tragedy in New York City that claimed thousands of innocent people's lives."

Harjo and AIM speak for all true American Indian people.

...But ... let’s call it a state, OK? And then you gonna go get some Uncle Tom Palestinian leaders to fall for this okey-doke. Two-state solution is off the table. No. One state. And check this out! One state ... majority rules. One state ... majority rules.

Us. The Muslims.

[crowd yells “Allahu Akbar!”]

I am having a difficult time trying to understand what Mona is saying when she writes:

Never in the history of the Muslim Student Union has it encouraged any type of violence or hate toward an ethnic group or religion.

The MSU’s only aim is to speak out against and inform the student body of the horrors and atrocities carried out against the Palestinian people as a result of the Zionist movement and the state of Israel. The MSU is not anti-Jewish in any way, shape or form.

Well, I daresay if you watch the video you will have a different opinion...

For Malik-Ali to shout that they are 'sacrificing in the belly of the beast' - I say to him: GO HOME!

We didn't force you here - you came here of your own volition...and now you shout hate in an effort to incite hate...

Get the hell out if you don't like it here...

Ward Churchill: First Amendment Rights Do Not Apply To My Critics

The infamous Ward Churchill has quite a legacy...one of hate-filled speeches and attempts to incite physical violence against his critics...

This student, Grant Crowell, experienced that aspect of Churchill’s twisted approach to things in 1994 when Churchill went to speak at the University of Hawaii-Manoa campus in Honolulu.

According to Crowell he had created a cartoon that was published in the student newspaper that caused outrage among left-wing activists: I had depicted one of Ward Churchill’s close colleagues on our campus, Professor Haunani K. Trask, U.H.’s Hawaii Studies Director, reading an excerpt from her recently published poetry book, entitled "Racist White Woman," who described in lurid detail her fantasy of punching, knifing, mutilating and ultimately murdering a white colleague she despised.

Well, let’s see…I am trying to relate…if I ‘despise’ someone, do I write a book detailing how I would like to off that person?…Nope…can’t relate…

But, in the interest of fairness, let’s assume that is what I, the normal, everyday, go-to-work-to-get-a-paycheck-to-pay-my-mortgage kind of person that I am…let’s just assume for a moment that if someone pisses me off, I will go to my publisher with my detailed diary entries so that everyone will now know what a psycho I am…

And if anyone dares publish a cartoon challenging that thought process…well, I will just call on my friend Ward “Dr. No” Churchill…

Okay, I really am getting into this…

So, this student gets his cartoon published…which apparently really pissed off the psycho Professor Trask…so when Churchill arrives for his book discussion on his latest masterpiece, Fantasies of the Master Race: Racism in the University, the whole thing deteriorated into this:

During Churchill’s speaking time at the event, this man -- a man who had never met me and refused to do so before and during the event -- included in his speech a reference to me as "vermin," and shared aloud a story of how an unnamed Nazi cartoonist was tried at the WWII Nuremburg trials, executed, dismembered and then cremated. Churchill’s ended this story with his own personal comment of, "Now, I’m not saying that should happen to Grant, but it would be a good thing."

Don't tell me the audience didn't understand his suggestion...thankfully they didn't follow through on it...Churchill, just by his size alone, could be a really intimidating figure I imagine

...the thought of him ranting like we have seen lately, saying without really saying it, that it would be a good thing to execute, dismember and cremate someone just because they don't agree with him, is way, way, way beyond the pale...

The stories that are beginning to surface all point to one conclusion…Ward Churchill is a dangerous man…

I am really trying to understand the professors that are supporting Churchill's repeat visit to the University of Hawaii...do you think it is out of loyalty for 'one of their own'?

...do you suppose they are thinking "there but for the grace of God go I"?

It's possible...and I am trying to give them the benefit of doubt...because the other option...the one that tells us that they are of the same mindset...now THAT would be a real problem...

...hopefully that is not the case...HOPEFULLY...

Iraqi police nab al-Zarqawi cell leader, Saddam-era general

From Baquba, Iraq, comes this news:

Iraqi security forces on Saturday arrested the alleged commander of an insurgent cell close to al-Qaeda frontman in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, police said.

"Early this morning Iraqi security forces assisted by US forces raided the house of Haidar Abu al-Buwari in western Baquba," said a police spokesman for Diyala province, whose capital is Baquba.

"He is one of the mujahedeen princes who works with Zarqawi in the position of cell leader," he said. Police found rocket-propelled grenades, grenades, drugs, computers and a photocopier in the house, he added.

Iraqi security forces also arrested a former high-ranking officer under Saddam Hussein allegedly involved in the insurgency in the northern city of Mosul, said a government statement.

"Harbi Abd al-Khudaier Hamudi, 50, also known as Abu Nur, was arrested on February 16," it said.

Michael Moore Caught in Another Lie

Oh, and here is another trait about liberals that I love to hate: "Don't ever put your money where your mouth is"

In January, during an interview about his film on the U.K.'s Channel 4 network, Moore was asked:

"If you are so concerned about helping our troops in Iraq, why don't you donate 100 percent of the money from your movies to that cause?"

Moore shot back: "I haven't seen a dime from this movie!"

According to Vanity Fair, however, "Fahrenheit 9/11" cost $6 million to produce and generated box office sales of more than $200 million.

The magazine said that Moore stands to pocket about a quarter of that gross, which would be $50 million.

Yea, that's right, Mr. Piggy...bitch about the President...make an anti-American movie filled with lies...and continue the lying process by claiming you haven't seen a dime from the movie...

Lies upon lies and more lies...is anyone surprised?

Teresa Heinz "no more Kerry": Sour Grapes

Doncha just love the liberal mantra - "It's always somebody elses fault" ?

Addressing Stanford University's "Whole Earth Symposium" last week, Teresa Heinz blamed the media for distorting their position on the environment....

oh, and just in case you weren't paying attention...Ms. Heinz no longer uses the hyphenated version of her name...dropped the Kerry the day after her husband lost the election apparently...cheesy thing to do...call yourself by your 'husband's' name just in case you can fool the people with how lovey-dovey you are and how you are the traditional sort of wife...heh, right!

but you know, a lot of women wouldn't have done it...they NEVER would have taken to attaching their name with the name of John F'n Kerry...but, some people just really have no class...

but, I digress...

...the first lady wannabe said that the press was largely responsible for the perception that her husband ignored the environment during the 2004 campaign, according to the campus newspaper, the Stanford Report.

What did get covered was the fact that the Heinz Kerrys owned a gas-guzzling private jet, a yacht Teresa bought for her husband, four SUVs and five giant mansions that burn up thousands of gallons of oil each year to heat and cool.

But Mrs. Heinz didn't address questions about how her lifestyle conflicted with her environmental beliefs.

Instead she accused reporters of falsely presenting the facts about climate change as a "duel of battling scientists."

Hey! Last time I looked, those reporters from the MSM were on your side, Ms. Heinz...so don't go blaming them for your husband's lack of...well...everything...

The Tightening Noose: al-Zarqawi's Propaganda Chief Killed

Iraqi security forces have killed or captured three insurgents producing websites showing hostages being tortured, officials said.

The government said two alleged terrorists were killed in a Feb. 11 raid in Baghdad. It identified the two as Abu al-Izz and Adel Mujtaba, known as Abu Rim, who the government said ''disseminated propaganda'' for the al-Qaida leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and created ''terrorist Web sites.'' It did not name the sites.

Guide for the Yucatecan Migrant

Mexican Government Guide cover

What to do if confronted by U.S. Immigration officer...

Officials in the Mexican state of Yucatan have published their own 87-page handbook for potential migrants to the United States, adding fuel to an international debate over whether such guides encourage illegal border-crossers.

The Guide for the Yucatecan Migrant, published by the southeastern state of Yucatán, comes with an accompanying DVD in Spanish and Mayan. It tells migrants how to apply for U.S. work visas but also gives detailed safety advice for crossing illegally, including where to find water in the desert and how to avoid the most dangerous areas. The guide includes a section specifically about Arizona.

This comes on the heels of the Mexican Government guidebook that is being distributed by the Mexican Foreign Ministry helping illegal immigrants cross the border into the U.S.

U.S. critics fear Mexican states quietly are encouraging undocumented immigrants as a way to boost their economies. Mexican migrants in all parts of the United States sent $16.6 billion to Mexico last year.

"That open border is worth more than a billion dollars a month to Mexico, so they're going to do whatever they can to keep it going," said Rick Oltman, Western field director for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, based in Washington, D.C.

The Yucatan book goes much further into details along with the instructional DVD:

The Guide for the Yucatecan Migrant is filled with photographs and maps, and the cover shows a man in traditional Yucatecan dress standing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

It devotes 11 pages to U.S. visas and how to apply for them. The guide published by the Foreign Ministry in December contained none of that information and was widely criticized for it.

An additional 21 pages are about crossing the border illegally, including descriptions meant to help migrants avoid the most dangerous routes through Arizona, California and Texas.

Eight pages deal with crossing the Arizona desert, telling migrants what clothes to wear and to add salt to their drinking water and use a rehydration formula that can be bought in pharmacies.

"After passing through Lukeville, you will cross through a national park where you will find tanks of water," one section says. "If the smuggler decides to walk beyond the park, you will travel on paths where there is no Border Patrol but in places where military exercises are conducted."

Guzmán said the descriptions are meant to help migrants realize when smugglers are leading them into danger.

Four pages are devoted to migrants' rights while detained by U.S. authorities. The guide tells them they only must give their names to officials, advises them to sign nothing without speaking to a lawyer or consular official and recommends they contact their local consulate for help in getting refunds for unused plane tickets.

The rest of the book is devoted to life in the United States: how to send money home, where to find health care, differences in U.S. and Mexican laws and driving tips.

The book urges migrants to seek free English classes. It also tells them how to apply for documents that will allow them to enroll in U.S. grade schools, a sore point for some U.S. school districts.

"There is an agreement between the governments of Mexico and the United States so that, no matter your migration status, you can study in elementary, secondary and preparatory schools," it says. "Don't stop studying; there is always an option."

The DVD repeats much of the same information using voice-overs, but it includes more photos and graphics.

The book ends with an invitation to return home: "Don't forget that Yucatán is your homeland and that in your homeland we will always receive you with open arms and with the respect you deserve."

Now just what the hell is THAT? "..the respect you deserve.."?

They come here illegally...work illegally...take complete advantage of our infrastructure - hospitals...schools...fire and police...welfare... - and most of them do not pay taxes...and we are supposed to dish out respect for all of that??

Get this:

....the amount of money migrants sent back to Yucatán doubled in 2001-04 to about $9 million. On Dec. 28, the government held its first Day of the Yucatecan Migrant ceremony to honor expatriates....

I have HAD IT!

Teachers: No More Red Ink - Purple Carries Red's Authority but Blue's Serenity

So, how far are liberals going to carry this 'blue thing' after losing the election??

First it was the blue states...then it was the blue wristbands...now liberals are bringing blue ink into the mix??

The Arizona Republic reports that teachers, in order to spare kids feelings, are using purple ink to correct papers...

Hey! if you got it wrong...it is WRONG...so go home and study and try again!

"Red is just so bold. It's kind of an angry color," says Meghan Dorsett, who teaches sixth-grade language arts and eighth-grade math at Skyline Junior High School in Peoria.

WTF!

Some of the other comments from educators:

Purple calls attention, but it doesn't scream at kids....

Purple is more fun. It doesn't have the same negative connotations as red....

If you get back a paper with a lot of red on it, you know you got a bad grade....

So...purple isn't a bad grade...purple is...what?

This is ridiculous...how are our children going to be prepared for a reality-based world? Political correctness at this level is taking the everybody-is-equal-let's-not-upset-anyone-by-singling-out-poor-performers-or-GOOD-performers...

This goes hand in hand with the schools that refused to have a class valedictorian because 'all the other students would feel bad'...what about the kid that did good?

Unbelievable...inconceivable...

Ward Churchill and Liberal Faculty at CU: Supporting the Constitution a Throwback to McCarthyism

The RockyMountainNews reports that Ward Churchill signed an oath on Friday to support the constitutions of the United States and Colorado, ending a controversy that has been simmering for a week.

The oath has been a condition of employment in Colorado colleges and public schools for decades.

But the oath was not attached to copies distributed to the news media of the contract Churchill signed when he became a tenured faculty member in 1991.

CU officials have been looking for the oath in at least five campus offices where documents are filed.

Churchill ended the matter Friday by signing a new oath, university spokesman Ray Gomez said.

Churchill could not be reached for comment.

The loyalty oath has been a sore point among liberal faculty members at CU. They view it as a relic of the McCarthy era, when several left-leaning professors were hounded by the legislature.

The oath was upheld in federal court, said Deputy Attorney General Renny Fagan.

U.N. Infiltrated by Organized Pedophiles?

Michelle Malkin thinks so...

Last Friday, ABC's "20/20" program aired a devastating expose by investigative reporter Brian Ross highlighting some of the worst alleged crimes.

The accused include Didier Bourguet, a U.N. senior official from France charged with running an Internet pedophile ring in the Congo. According to ABC News and others, pictures taken from his personal computer contained thousands of photos of him with hundreds of girls. Police say Mr. Bourguet had turned his bedroom, plastered with mirrors and rigged with remote-control cameras, into a stealth porn studio. He was caught in a sting operation while allegedly preparing to rape a 12-year-old girl....

...Mr. Annan's spinners would have us believe that the problem of U.N. sex predators is confined to a tiny band of rogues and locals beyond the control of headquarters. But according to Mr. Bourguet's lawyer, there was an entire network of U.N. personnel who had sex with underage girls in Congo and the Central African Republic. Investigators are now digging into claims of U.N. infiltration by organized pedophiles....

What is it going to take to get this situation under control?

Professor: You Are Too Conservative - Get Psychological Counseling or I Will Pull Your Visa

yep - you heard what I said....

A 17-year-old Kuwaiti Arab Muslim writes a very moving essay on his history:

I was three years of age when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990. My parents still remember what it was like for us during the invasion. Waiting for long hours in line for a few pieces of bread. We had darkness 24 hours a day from the burning oil wells. My two uncles are still traumatized from being kidnapped and tortured in Iraqi prisons. Most of all we remember our one-week-old baby cousin who died while the Iraqi invaders were stealing incubators from hospitals to sell them for profit. The Americans by contrast came in to liberate us and asked for nothing in return. I love this country for the freedom it provides and for rescuing Kuwait’s liberty in the first Gulf War. 12 Years later, America once again has selflessly protected my country and my people by removing Saddam Hussein.

So, you say - what is the problem? He and his family are safely living in the U.S. and all is well...

HA!

Read on...read about the terrorism this student has had to face here in America:

I arrived in the United States for the first time 5 months ago with tremendous enthusiasm to study the political institutions and history of this extraordinary country.

I enrolled in Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California and immediately registered for “Introduction to American Government and Politics." I was shocked by my Professor’s singularly one-sided presentation. Week after week, I encountered a lack of intellectual and political diversity that I would have more commonly expected to have heard on the streets of pre-liberation Iraq. In this particular class I heard only one consistent refrain: America is bad.

A week before thanksgiving Professor Woolcock assigned us a take home final exam. The final exam consisted solely of one required essay: “Dye and Zeigler contend that the Constitution of the United States was not ‘ordained and established’ by ‘the people’ as we have so often been led to believe. They contend instead that it was written by a small educated and wealthy elite in America who were representative of powerful economic and political interests. Analyze the US constitution (original document), and show how its formulation excluded the majority of the people living in America at that time, and how it was dominated by America's elite interest.”

This student...this emigree resisted this definition of America:

When I read the assignment I remembered back to my high school in Kuwait. Many of my teachers were Palestinian; they hated America, they hated my worldview, and they did their best to brainwash me. I did not leave my country and my family to come to the United States to receive further brainwashing. I disagreed completely with Dye and Zeigler’s thesis. I wrote an essay defending America’s Founding Fathers and upholding the US constitution as a pioneering document, which has contributed to extraordinary freedoms in America and other corners of the world - including my corner, the Middle East.

Eventually he wrote a very pro-America essay...turned it in...and was shocked by the professor's reaction:

Professor Woolcock didn’t grade my essay. Instead he told me to come to see him in his office the following morning. I was surprised the next morning when instead of giving me a grade, Professor Woolcock verbally attacked me and my essay. He told me, “Your views are irrational.” He called me naïve for believing in the greatness of this country, and told me "America is not God's gift to the world." Then he upped the stakes and said "You need regular psychotherapy." Apparently, if you are an Arab Muslim who loves America you must be deranged. Professor Woolcock went as far as to threaten me by stating that he would visit the Dean of International Admissions (who has the power to take away student visas) to make sure I received regular psychological treatment.

This very brave young man resisted the brain-washing that our young people are currently being exposed to day after day on our university campuses...he writes further:

I have since learned that mine is not an isolated case. Many students in American universities are being indoctrinated and silenced by biased professors who hate America. America saved my life and the lives of my family. How can I not speak out?

This is not an isolated incident...these same themes can be found in the current curriculum on the campsus of William and Mary College, Truman State University, University of Illinois at Chicago, just to name a few...

I am quoting from a FrontPage article that was posted January 6, 2005...and from a post from Redford Outpost that I didn't discover until today...but it was Hannity and Colmes that first brought my attention to this disgraceful man that calls himself a 'professor' over at Foothill College in California....

Zarqawi duo under arrest: Iraqis

Iraqi security forces have captured two suspected members of a militant group headed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaeda's leader in Iraq, the Iraqi Government said today.

Brothers Hutheyfa and Mohammed Abdul-Jabbar were picked up on February 12 in Baghdad, based on intelligence extracted from other suspected insurgents under interrogation.

"It's clear from information and evidence gathered from the raid that Hutheyfa is a member of al-Qaeda," the Government said.

Iraqi security forces have rounded up scores of suspected guerrillas in recent weeks.

Some of the boldest and bloodiest insurgent attacks have been claimed by the group led by the Jordanian Zarqawi.

And Now...Churchill's Leap to a Tenured Position is Under the Microscope

The Rocky Mountain News is reporting there might be some discrepancies where Churchill's tenure is concerned:

Churchill had been working for more than a decade in a program that helps minority students when then-Vice Chancellor Kaye Howe recommended him for a one-semester appointment teaching Indian studies.

Eleven months later, Churchill leaped to a coveted tenured position.

"This just doesn't compute for me," Howe said Wednesday of Churchill's quick rise to tenure. "I don't understand that."

Tenure is usually granted only after a "laborious" process, she said.

A discussion point at that time was over the fact that Churchill didn't have a doctorate...

"I'm sure that what I was thinking was that Ward, with his involvement in scholarship in Native American areas was one of those people who should probably . . . be given the opportunity to demonstrate that he might have the credentials to be a successful faculty person."

But, Howe said, she wasn't talking about tenure when she recommended Churchill for a job.

"It was for one term. Why not give somebody an opportunity when it looks like they have been very active in scholarship?" she said.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Ward Churchill, Threats and Violence Against Colleagues

It is all documented...all of it...

In January 2003 this article was posted at FrontPage: Dr. Ward Churchill of the University of Colorado – Boulder, a man who pretends to be a "radical Indian activist" and who physically attacked and broke Mrs. Carol Standing Elk’s wrist after she exposed him as a fraud to the Native American community

Over at Students for Academic Freedom: Churchill has not shrunk from violence himself, having participated in an attack that left a one Carol Standing Elk with a broken wrist, spitting on the elderly Indian woman. The attack was in retaliation after for the pivotal role Standing Elk played in expelling Churchill from AIM in 1993 for “misdirecting, disrupting, and sowing division in order to discredit and neutralize the leadership of the American Indian Movement.”

The Denver Post quotes Churchill's attorney, David Lane, about a report that Churchill's wife first attacked the elderly Carol Standing Elk and after she fell down Churchill spit on her: "Maybe she needed to be physically attacked," he said. "Maybe his wife acted in self-defense. Maybe she needed to be spit on."

The Post is also reporting that Churchill, when wanting to give a dorm an Indian name, threatened another colleague with harm: "He suggested I should back off my proposal and if I didn't, I would get hurt," Arnold said after she was contacted by The Denver Post. "I was shocked, and that's why my dean heard about it."

Greenspan Supports Social Security Reform

Hat tip: Sacred Cow Burgers

Don't know if you caught it or not, but Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan "endorsed President Bush's idea of private Social Security accounts, saying the current system isn't set up to handle the approaching retirement of baby boomers."

WHOA! What?

You mean to tell me those libs have the Fed Reserve Chairman to add to the list of people they have to combat on this issue? They already are having to backtrack, sidestep and outright lie when confronted with their OWN position on this topic not so long ago...

I was LOL watching it...you could almost hear the gasps in the room as Greenspan spoke...

...mind you, Greenspan wasn't giddy or anything like that - in fact, he was urging caution as we move forward with this, but he was practically putting his Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval on it: "If you're going to move to private accounts, which I approve of, I think you have to do it in a cautious, gradual way"

Liberals tried their damndest to interpret what he said as a negative on changing the Social Security structure: "It seems to me that what you're saying here is that moving to the system that's outlined, that the president may propose, is risky," said Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat. "It's risky because we don't know what the markets ... will do if they see it, and at the same time, it does not increase overall net savings in and of itself."

Nope. That's not what he said at all.

Greenspan went on: "I've always supported moves to full funding in the context of a private account," Mr. Greenspan said. "We've got a problem in that the existing pay-as-you-go system is not working, and we've got to change it."

Looking toward future challenges, Mr. Greenspan urged Congress to act in the near future to shore up Social Security and Medicare for the baby boomers, though he didn't cite specific solutions.

"Real progress on these issues will unavoidably entail many difficult choices. But the demographics are inexorable and call for action before the leading edge of baby boomer retirement becomes evident in 2008," he said.

UN forces – just a bunch of thugs?

Once again, Mark Steyn captures the moment:

....corrupt organisations rarely stop at just one kind. If you don't want to bulk up your pension by skimming the Oil-for-Food programme, don't worry, whatever your bag, the UN can find somewhere that suits - in West Africa, it's Sex-for-Food, with aid workers demanding sexual services from locals as young as four; in Cambodia, it's drug dealing; in Kenya, it's the refugee extortion racket; in the Balkans, sex slaves....

...on a UN peace mission, everyone gets his piece. Didier Bourguet, a UN staffer in Congo and the Central African Republic, enjoyed the pleasures of 12-year-old girls, and as a result is now on trial in France. His lawyer has said he was part of a UN paedophile network that transcends national boundaries....Now how about this? The Third Infantry Division are raping nine-year olds in Ramadi....

But think about it: the merest glimpse of a freaky West Virginia tramp leading an Abu Ghraib inmate around with girlie knickers on his head was enough to prompt calls for Rumsfeld's resignation, and for Ted Kennedy to charge that Saddam's torture chambers were now open "under new management", and for Robert Fisk to be driven into the kind of orgasmic frenzy unseen since his column on how much he enjoyed being beaten up by an Afghan mob: "Just look at the way US army reservist Lynndie England holds the leash of the naked, bearded Iraqi," wrote Fisk. "No sadistic movie could outdo the damage of this image. In September 2001, the planes smashed into the buildings; today, Lynndie smashes to pieces our entire morality with just one tug on the leash."

Who's straining at the leash here?

....systemic UN child sex in at least 50 per cent of their missions? The transnational morality set can barely stifle their yawns. If you're going to rape prepubescent girls, make sure you're wearing a blue helmet....

...there exists...a UN culture in which the free nations have met the thug states so much more than half way that they now largely share the dictators' view of their peoples - as either helpless children who need every decision made for them, or a bunch of dupes whose national wealth you can reroute to your Swiss bank account, or a never-ending source of fresh meat. Those British officials trying to rationalise Oil-for-Fraud or child sex rings give the game away: it's not just the underage Congolese girls who get corrupted by contact with the UN.

My question for the day: Is the U.N. so corrupt...so far gone...that it is now beyond salvaging?

Calling the United States a 'second grade classroom'....acting as if Eason Jordan is some kind of hero for lying to the world that American soldiers were targeting journalists...blaming 'conservative blogs' for Jordan's eventual loss of his job....and trying to tie all of that back to the uproar that Hollywood is now in over Chris Rock's goofy statements...

Listen, Hollywood...Chris Rock's dumb comments about the Oscars does in no way equate to Whoopie Goldberg's crass jokes about the president's name...

You actors go out - mostly when you are overseas speaking to sympathetic audiences (because you know you will get your arses kicked off the stage if you dare try it at home - Linda Ronstadt are you listening?)...you go onstage and denigrate this country and its leaders...disgusting - all of you!

Listen to what this idiotic writer says about this: In this case, the problem is unfortunately one of respect...

Apparently David Letterman made a similar 'mistake' : He was an outsider who failed to gauge the tolerance a Hollywood crowd would have for a guy poking harmless but pointed fun at their revered institution -- and the crowd turned on him...

The same writer warns: Rock is setting himself up for a similarly chilly reception, particularly in an age when speaking one's mind can be hazardous to one's career health....

HOLD ON! Let me get this straight!

It's OKAY for the Hollywood creeps to go global and run a smear/hate/scorched-earth campaign on the leader of the free world...even if none of the accusations are true or can ever be verified...because it is their RIGHT to do so....

But...BUT...

...let one comedian - yea, Johnny, a comedian - make one or two wisecracks about their precious let's-oooohh-and-aaaahhh-and-suck-up-pat-yourself-and-each-other-on-the-back-award program...and watch the long knives come out...the claws are unsheathed...the poison is being readied for his drink...because the dumb-ass black kid "didn't show respect"...

HEY HOLLYWOOD!

KISS MY ASS...

Re-Education Camps on a University Campus Near You...

It really is very simple to do...plug in the words "conservatism on campus" and do a search...

For quite some time now concerned individuals have been writing, posting, and warning us about the appalling, one-sided, extreme liberal atmosphere that exists on practically every campus...they are also relaying what those students that are strong enough in their convictions are going through...if they are able to withstand the incredible amount of pressure that is applied - by both professors and other brain-washed students...

Consider this - Thomas Lipscomb writes in an article, Students have appallingly weak grasp of free speech, the following:

Almost three out of four students said they took the First Amendment for granted or didn't have any particular opinion about it. Their general indifference and misunderstanding took tangible form in the belief of three out of four students that flag-burning was illegal and almost half believed the government had the right to censor the Internet. Once the First Amendment was read to them, one third of the students felt it went "too far" in granting free speech and one half thought that the government should have the right to approve news stories.

If you don’t understand what I am concerned about, please re-read the previous paragraph…you are seeing the results – in living, breathing color – of the successful indoctrination of our university students to the extreme left beliefs and views…Joseph Stalin and Karl Marx come quickly to mind…

What is wrong with this picture?... for students to believe that flag-burning is illegal (it is definitely reprehensible, but not illegal)…that the government has a right to censor the internet…that the government has a ‘right’ to approve news stories...

Ward Churchill is nothing new to this scene…he is just putting all of this into focus…

It is not enough to simply write the check and send your youngster off to college…parents need to pay attention to what is happening right in front of their eyes…

If a student dares to espouse conservative views, they are ostracized…they are ridiculed…they are stigmatized, expelled, subjected to mandatory psychological counseling or forced to take "re-education" courses, with very little legal recourse.

When was the last time we heard those words – re-education classes (or camps)?

The “new” Vietnamese government decided in 1979 to "re-educate" thousands of former American allies, government workers, intellectuals and merchants by transforming them into agricultural workers…

Wade Teasdale, chief of staff for Bill Morrow, a CA state senator, said that his office received a report of a professor who offered students extra credit to write and send letters to President Bush complaining about the Iraqi war policy. Those who wrote letters commending the policies were not given credit for the assignment.

Reports like these, Teasdale said, lend credence to the need for policy changes.

“It has the flavor of a re-education camp,” he said…

Lipscomb asks How did one half of American high school students become perfectly comfortable with government censorship of media?

He points to the dearth of availability on some campuses of student publications… What is particularly troubling is that school administrators in the last five years are not only interfering with student publications more and more frequently, they are increasingly asking for prior approval of their content...

How has this been allowed to get this bad?

Until recently, the legal excuse for this kind of thought policing was college administration references to conditions laid down by the Office of Civil Rights in the U.S. Department of Education. But in July 2003, a letter of clarification was issued by that office which removes this excuse. Nonetheless, Lukianoff feels that "in the past year, I have seen the worst incidents in my career."

There have been hundreds of incidents of the theft and destruction of college newspapers by some groups, on campus and off, who feel they are expressing their freedom of speech by suppressing access to speech with which they disagree in the paper. Even the mayor of Berkeley, Calif., felt free to confiscate copies of a student newspaper that opposed his election. And less than a dozen have yet been arrested or even investigated and disciplined by any college administration to date.

My voice is but one of many…and the chorus needs to get louder…

Ward Churchill is going to be the poster boy for reform on our university campuses…

Even if Churchill is allowed to stay, hopefully all of the attention that has been drawn to this problem will follow with more balance within our faculty on campus…

The extreme left idealism has been allowed to fester and grow for long enough within academia…these people are shaping the minds of our youth...the future leaders of this nation...

It is time to realize that we DO have a problem…it is also time to DEAL WITH IT

Churchill's "Homeland 'In'Security" Speech Cancelled

The University of Oregon has canceled plans to have Ward Churchill speak at an on-campus symposium.

Churchill was scheduled to give the keynote lunch address at a symposium titled "Homeland 'In'Security: Race, Immigration and Labor in Post-9/11 North America," a joint presentation of the University of Oregon's Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics and the Center on Diversity and Community, the school's Oregon Daily Emerald reported.

Noam Chomsky has pronounced academic fraud Ward Churchill a professor whose work is "of high scholarly quality." Well why wouldn't he, since Churchill's views of America -- genocidal, worse than Hitler Germany, deserving of everything it got on 9/11, are plagiarized from Chomsky himself:

"I've read a fair amount of his work, and a lot of it is excellent, penetrating and of high scholarly quality," said Noam Chomsky, linguistics professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an anti-war activist. -- Denver Post, 2/9/05

Happy Anniversary Arizona!

Today, in addition to celebrating Valentine's Day, we Arizon-ians also celebrate our anniversary of statehood....

February 14, 1912...almost 100 years ago...

...I realize that we are one of the last ones to join the 'union'.....and all of you 'easterners' can celebrate the fact that your state of origin joined many years before we westerners here in the Wild West finally made that decision.....

...but, as someone who was born and raised in this Wild, Wild West...I treasure the fact that my predecessors had the knowledge...the foresight...and fortitude....to hold out just as long as they could....

...gives me one more reason to be proud of the 'cowboy' name many of my friends so fondly attach to my name....

Google = Cash Engine for Democrats

Matt Drudge has picked up this story about Google's campaign contributions reporting: A USA Today analysis published Monday indicated 98 percent of the money went to Democrats, the most-lopsided giving of any of the top tech company donors...

Google declined to discuss employee campaign contributions but the among the company's top 2004 givers was Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt, whose biggest single donation was $25,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee....

....but WE all know how those contributions broke down from my earlier post about Google's bias...

Chris Rock - Oscars - Ward Churchill - Larry Summers

oooohhhh...this is getting soooo good...

think about it!

Ward Churchill calls 9/11 'payback'...calling the 3,000+ victims "little Eichmann's"...the same Ward Churchill that has been quoted as saying 'another 9/11 is necessary'...has said "[I want the] U.S. off the planet. Out of existence altogether." ...and boy-oh-boy, the liberals are falling all over themselves, rushing to defend his First Amendment rights...

Larry Summers, one of the most respected economists in America, president of Harvard University and former secretary of the treasury dares suggest that there might be some innate cognitive differences between men and women, and what happens? An MIT feminist biologist – who moonlights as a feminist activist – quickly got the vapors and stormed out of the room for fear of fainting. If she stayed any longer, she explained, she’d vomit....Derrick Jackson of the Boston Globe compared Summers to people who cavalierly bandy about the N-word or who thoughtlessly wear swastikas...One hundred members of the Harvard faculty drafted a letter demanding that he apologize...The National Organization for Women demanded that he resign...The dean of engineering at the University of Washington called his comments “an intellectual tsunami.”

...where are HIS First Amendment rights???

And now Chris Rock....

ooohhh...Hollywood is so upset about his comments they are lobbying to have him fired as the host for the upcoming Oscars....

HOLLYWOOD?? Hollywood not supporting someone's First Amendment rights???

WTF is going on here???

Chris Rock: Only Gays Watch Oscars

You gotta admit, Chris Rock is nobody's fool...

Matt Drudge is reporting that "veteran members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have grown concerned over the choice of Chris Rock as host of this month's awards show"

HAR!

Chris Rock apparently has been doing what we love to see him do...say exactly what is on his mind:

"I never watched the Oscars. Come on, it's a fashion show," Rock recently declared.

"What straight black man sits there and watches the Oscars? Show me one!"

Rock added: "Awards for art are f---ing idiotic."

He got that one right...

Some in Hollywood have gotten their panties in a wad over Rock's statements...fearing Rock may "tarnish" the reputation of the Academy.

They are so full of themselves...WTF?? "tarnish" the Academy's reputation??

Those egotistical millionaires in Hollywood...why can't they just be happy to suck up our money so we can go to the movies and escape reality for two hours?

The only 'reputation' the Academy has is within that community...none of the rest of the world REALLY cares...but, oh they love to give themselves awards...atta-boys...tell themselves and each other how *wonderful* they are...

Guess they really are little sick puppies, huh? Don't have enough self-respect to realize who or what they are...

I remember right after 9/11 how the Hollywood freaks were all atwitter...thinking the terrorists were going to target them next...remember that? I even think they postponed the Oscars because they were convinced that they were targets.....

Hey Hollywood! Get over yourself!

The rest of the world is dealing with terrorism...so, as someone famous recently said, Shut up and Sing...that is how your name got in the limelight in the first place...nothing else...nothing else...

"No one will stop the train of democracy and those who stand against the change will soon be nothing but forgotten."

...so ends a poignant post from Mohammed over at Iraq the Model...

Another post quotes an Iraqi politician and the head of the "Hizb Al-Umma Al-Iraqiya" or the (Iraqi Nation Party) who survived an assassination attempt when a group of terrorists attacked him in front of his house, but his two young sons and his guard were killed in the attack:

Again, the ghosts of death are going out. They are ready to kill a person, ready to kill the peace, ready to kill the victory of Iraqis and their right to life. Again, henchmen of the Ba'ath [Party] and dirty terrorist gangs, Al-Qaeda and others, are going out convinced that they can determine life and death as they desire. Iraq will not die.

My children, three people [in all] -- one of my bodyguards and two of my children -- died as heroes, no differently from other people who find their heroic deaths. But we will not, [I swear] by God, hand Iraq over to murderers and terrorists.

We will pave the road for peace. If [the attackers] thought that by attempting to kill Mithal al-Alusi, the advocates of peace in Iraq will be stopped, then they have made a grave mistake. We will be calling for peace. We will be calling for peace with all neighboring countries [of Iraq]. We will be calling for peace with all countries of the region. And we will be calling for fighting terrorism by any means [and] against all forms [of terror].

They claim that Islam is a message of killing, while Islam is a message of peace. They claim that the principles [of Islam] encourage killing, while the only principles that encourage killing are the principles of the Ba'ath [Party] and of the heathens from Al-Qaeda groupings.

Strong words, indeed...

...the people of Iraq knew they had a long, hard road to travel on their way to freedom...but as the positive stories find their way to us, we are able to realize that they are truly embracing this opportunity...
